Snapchat has been an active social media platform since its launch. You may or may not see people actively using Facebook or Orkut these days, but Snapchat is almost on every mobile phone. Today, we will discuss how to see who viewed our Snap stories. Also, we will talk about the differences in the same procedure while having private and public accounts.
Can I see who viewed my Snap stories?
Yes, you can see who has viewed your Snap stories. Stories are posts that are uploaded for a short period of time. They stay on your profile for 24 hours after their upload. They can be viewed by people, depending on the visibility options that you have chosen for them. And not just Snapchat, but most of the social media platforms including Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook allow the users to see the number of views on the story, as well as the names of the people who viewed these stories.
Steps to see the viewers of my Snap stories
If you want to see the viewers of your Snap stories, follow these steps –
Private account
These steps only apply to the users of a private Snapchat account. It means that you do not own a public profile and only have followers by approving their follow requests. Now let us begin to see the steps –
- Open the Snapchat app on your phone. If you do not have it on your phone, download it from the App Stores.
- Now open the app and log in if not already logged in.
- Visit your profile.
- Here you can see the bar of ‘My stories’. If you have uploaded a story in the past 24 hours, you can see them appear under this bar.
- Choose the story you want to see the viewers of.
- Click on the eye icon that appears on that story.
- It will give you a list of all the people who have viewed your story.
One thing to note is that your account will only show you the names if less than 200 people have viewed your story. A number will appear instead if more than 200 people have viewed your story.
Public account
If you are a public profile owner, follow these steps instead and you can have your way. But the problem is that you can only see a number and no names. You can see the number of people who viewed your story, without their names.
- Log in to the Snapchat app on your phone. If you don’t have the app, download it first from the App Store.
- Visit your profile to open a new page.
- Click on ‘My Public Profile’.
- Now you can see the ‘Insights and Replies’ page as it opens before you.
- When you choose ‘View the Insights’, you can see the number of people who viewed your stories. You can also see the number of replies and any screenshots if taken.
Make sure your stories align with the guidelines of the platform. This avoids your posts and stories being reported, as well as your account.
