Where to find Rayquaza?
It is really a trick to find one! As a Legendary Pokémon, Rayquaza isn’t found wandering around in the wild, and there are special places that you need to check out. Your primary chance to catch Rayquaza is during limited-time raids, specifically when it returns as a Tier 5 or Mega Raid boss. If you have been following the game recently, then you must know that it recently had a “Mega Rayquaza Raid Day,” but it was short. When you’re doing so, you have to wait for an official announcement from Niantic saying Rayquaza is back in raids. Look out for those notifications and info wherever you can get it!
Steps to teach Dragon Ascent to Rayquaza
Now, let us discuss the way and the steps one needs to teach Dragon Ascent to Rayquaza.
Get a Meteorite
This is the hard part and also the first part of the process. Meteorites are only available during special events, like Pokémon GO Fests or specific Raid Days featuring Rayquaza, which started just recently. You usually get them by completing special Timed Research during the event, like we had already talked about, and sometimes as a rare drop after defeating a Mega Rayquaza in a raid, which is also hard.
Pick Rayquaza
Go to your Pokémon Storage and tap on the Rayquaza you want to power up. This will be the one that will qualify for a jump!
Teach Dragon Ascent
You can now move towards the final step. Just scroll down on that Rayquaza’s summary page, and you will see a button or option for the move Dragon Ascent. Tapping on this will use one of your collected Meteorites to teach the move. Once your Rayquaza knows Dragon Ascent, you’ll be able to Mega Evolve it. This is a huge achievement in the game. However, there is another requirement. You must also have the necessary Mega Energy!
