Changing servers in AION 2 can help you play with friends, join a different community, or find a better environment for your character. However, server transfers are not always available. NC has introduced a limited transfer service with specific requirements, regional restrictions, and application periods.
If you want to move your character without starting over, here is how the server transfer system works, what you need before applying, and what to check before confirming your move.
How to Transfer Servers in AION 2
The official server transfer service is available through the in-game shop. You must apply while the transfer service is open and choose an eligible destination server.
Follow these steps:
- Launch AION 2 and log in to your account.
- Open the in-game shop and locate the Server Transfer section.
- Check whether your current server and preferred destination are eligible.
- Select the character or characters you want to transfer.
- Review the destination server, available character slots, and transfer conditions.
- Complete the application and wait for the transfer to finish.
Once the request is completed, your character will move to the selected server. The process can take longer during busy periods, so avoid assuming that the transfer will finish instantly.
When Is Server Transfer Available?
The first official transfer service is divided into two periods, depending on your server type.
- Early Access servers: The transfer window runs from October 14 to October 21, 2026, in Central European Summer Time.
- Launch servers: The transfer window runs from October 21 to October 28, 2026, in Central European Time.
As of October 22, 2026, the Launch server transfer period is active. Applications are accepted only during the scheduled availability windows for your region, and maintenance can affect the exact opening and closing times.
Server transfer opportunities may also close early if a server reaches its transfer limit. Check the in-game shop before making plans.
Important Server Transfer Requirements
Before transferring your character, understand the restrictions. Not every server is available as a destination.
The main rules include:
- Same region: You can only transfer between servers within your current region.
- Same faction: Your destination server must belong to the same faction.
- Early Access restrictions: Characters on Early Access servers can only move to other Early Access servers.
- Account limit: The service is limited to one transfer application per account during the transfer period.
- Server capacity: Each server has limits on incoming and outgoing transfers.
The available transfer capacity is updated regularly. If a server becomes full, you may need to wait for another application window or choose a different destination.
Does Server Transfer Cost Money?
The announced server transfer product has a base cost of zero Quna, and transferring each character also costs zero Quna. However, expanding character slots on the destination server costs 1,000 Quna per additional slot.
For example, if you want to transfer six characters but the destination server has room for only four, you may need to purchase two additional slots for a total of 2,000 Quna.
Check the final price and slot requirements in the shop before submitting your application.
What Happens to Your Items and Progress?
One major advantage of server transfer is that you do not have to rebuild your character from scratch.
The official transfer information lists several types of progress and assets that move with your character, including:
- Character progression, skills, and Stigmas
- Inventory items and character storage
- Wings, equipment-related progression, and cosmetics
- Quests, exploration, titles, and achievements
- Pets and their listed progression
- Crafting records and gathering proficiency
- Certain currencies, membership details, and content progress
However, not everything transfers in the same way. For example, server storage transfers only its expansion records, rather than its stored contents. Review the official transfer summary carefully if you keep valuable items in shared storage.
Can You Keep Your Character Name?
Your character name may change during the transfer. According to the official transfer FAQ, transferred characters receive a temporary name, and you can select a new name when you first log in after the transfer finishes.
If your old name is already taken on the destination server, you cannot reuse it. Choose a suitable alternative before starting the process.
