Hyundai Motor Company has posted its strongest-ever year for the Palisade, selling 211,215 units worldwide, a 27.4% jump over the previous year. What’s driving the surge isn’t just a refresh. It’s a full generational leap. The second-generation Hyundai Palisade, led by a new high-efficiency hybrid powertrain, has struck a chord with families looking for range, comfort, and real-world efficiency.
This milestone firmly places the Palisade at the center of Hyundai’s global SUV strategy.
The 1,000 km Hybrid Moment
At the heart of the Palisade’s success is its new 2.5-liter turbocharged hybrid system. Hyundai calls it a practical breakthrough, and the numbers back that up. The system enables drivers to travel more than 1,000 kilometers on a single refuel, removing the range anxiety that still holds many buyers back from full EVs.
The hybrid setup uses a dual-motor architecture. A P2 motor handles propulsion and regenerative braking, while a P1 motor supports startup and power delivery. The result is smoother transitions, quieter operation, and noticeably improved NVH levels.
Key gains over the gasoline model include up to 45% better fuel efficiency, 19% more system output, and 9% higher torque, without sacrificing performance or towing confidence.
Hybrid Momentum in the US and South Korea
Hyundai’s flexible powertrain approach is paying off across markets.
In the United States, the Palisade Hybrid has quickly gained traction. With EV tax incentives fading and charging infrastructure still uneven, buyers are leaning into hybrids that deliver EV-like efficiency without lifestyle compromises. Nearly 10,000 Palisade Hybrid units were sold in the US in just four months.
Back home in South Korea, the shift is even clearer. Hybrid sales have overtaken gasoline, with 38,112 hybrid units sold, outperforming the gasoline version by nearly 17,000 units. Globally, exports of the new-generation Palisade crossed 100,000 units within eight months, signaling strong international demand.
Industry Recognition Follows Sales Success
The momentum didn’t stop at showrooms. The All-New Palisade was named 2026 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year by the NACTOY jury. It won decisively with 270 points, ahead of the Nissan Leaf and Lucid Gravity, underscoring its broad appeal across powertrain categories.
Bigger, Quieter, More Luxurious
Hyundai has positioned the Palisade as a true flagship. The latest model is longer and taller, translating directly into better headroom, legroom, and overall space. New walk-in access for the second row, a sliding third row, preview electronically controlled suspension, and upgraded sound insulation all contribute to a calmer, more premium driving experience.
A New Benchmark for Family SUVs
With record sales, a class-leading hybrid range, and top industry honors, the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid SUV is no longer chasing competitors. It’s setting the pace. Hyundai’s message is clear: the future of large family SUVs isn’t all-electric or all-gas. It’s smart, efficient, and unapologetically hybrid.
