Naukri parent Info Edge has completed its long journey toward full ownership of coding education platform Coding Ninjas. The company’s board approved on July 6, 2026 the acquisition of the remaining 45.36% stake in Sunrise Mentors Private Limited, the entity operating Coding Ninjas from its founders for ₹39.91 crore in an all-cash deal. Once the transaction closes, expected within 45 days, Info Edge will own 100% of Coding Ninjas through a combination of direct holding and its subsidiary Startup Investments (Holding) Ltd, converting Coding Ninjas into a wholly owned subsidiary.
The acquisition price works out to ₹5,340.23 per share across 74,741 equity shares. Info Edge will pay 25% of the consideration approximately ₹9.98 crore at the closing of the share purchase agreement, with the remaining ₹29.93 crore structured in three equal annual tranches on March 31 of 2027, 2028, and 2029. The founders of Coding Ninjas – Ankush Singla, Kannu Mittal, and Dhawal Parate will continue to be employed by Info Edge and will receive salary and performance incentives during their tenure.

Six Years In The Making: From Series A To 100% Ownership
The deal closes a chapter that began in 2020. Info Edge first invested ₹37.1 crore approximately $5.2 million in Coding Ninjas’ Series A funding round, acquiring around 26% of the company. In October 2022, it deepened its commitment with a ₹135.4 crore investment through primary and secondary share purchases, taking its stake to 51% and making Coding Ninjas its subsidiary at a valuation of approximately ₹541 crore. The latest buyout of the remaining 45.36% from the founding team completes the transition from investor to full owner.
The total acquisition cost for Info Edge across all three transactions amounts to roughly ₹212 crore. This sum has given the Naukri parent complete control of a platform generating ₹97.43 crore in revenue for FY26, up 45% from ₹67.15 crore in FY25 and nearly double the ₹53.31 crore recorded in FY24. The net loss stood at ₹13.36 crore in FY26, a significant improvement from ₹30 crore the previous year while net worth was negative at ₹34.98 crore as of March 31, 2026. That negative net worth is why full ownership matters: Info Edge can now directly backstop the balance sheet and drive Coding Ninjas toward profitability without the friction of a divided ownership structure.

The Strategic Logic: Naukri-Coding Ninjas Synergies And Mini AI Courses
Info Edge has been clear about its expectations from full ownership. The acquisition, according to the business, aims to increase synergies between Naukri.com, India’s largest recruitment portal, and Coding Ninjas, while also allowing Naukri to construct small AI course offerings for its users. The idea is sound: a job seeker on Naukri who lacks a certain technical talent could be routed to a Coding Ninjas course, upskilled, and then returned to the job market as a more employable candidate, all inside an ecosystem that Info Edge owns from start to finish.
Coding Ninjas, founded in 2016, offers online courses in programming, data structures, algorithms, machine learning, data science, and other technical topics. The site primarily serves engineering students, recent graduates, and early-career professionals looking to progress their careers in software development, a demographic that closely mirrors Naukri’s active user base.
Coding Ninjas joins Zwayam, DoSelect, and Highorbit Careers (parent of iimjobs and hirist) among startups that have come under Info Edge’s full ownership throughout the years. The richness of the trip is what sets Coding Ninjas apart. Info Edge expanded their shareholding across multiple rounds over six years before obtaining full control, suggesting a patient, conviction-building approach rather than a one-shot acquisition.

₹180 Crore More For B8 Fund I And Info Edge’s Broader Investment Conviction:
Apart from contributing to the Coding Ninjas acquisition, Info Edge’s board approved a ₹180 crore investment to B8 Fund I, a Category II Alternative Investment Fund managed by Smartweb Internet Services, its fully owned subsidiary. Info Edge’s overall commitment to the fund now stands at ₹430 crore, in addition to the approved ₹250 crore earlier this year.
Info Edge reported Q1 FY27 standalone billings of ₹737 crore, a 14.4% increase from ₹644.2 crore in Q1 FY26. Info Edge’s shares rose 13.35% to ₹1,162.55 during the same trading session, indicating investor confidence in the company’s operational success and strategic direction following the Coding Ninjas acquisition and extra investment commitment. Between 2020 and March 2026, Info Edge invested ₹1,003 crore in 54 AI and deeptech businesses, showing its commitment to owning the entire education-to-employment stack rather than just job boards.
