Jaguar’s striking Type 00 Concept made an unexpected yet spectacular appearance on the streets of Paris, captivating onlookers with its fresh new hue and making its first public drive. The concept, which has sparked debate since its reveal, appeared in an eye-catching French Ultramarine, a stark departure from the previously showcased Miami Pink and London Blue shades. Retaining its silver-accented lower bodywork and distinctive alloy wheels, the two-door EV prototype showcased its futuristic charm as it cruised towards a Paris Fashion Week venue.
Adding to the spectacle, acclaimed Irish actor Barry Keoghan emerged from the passenger seat, further fueling media interest. The butterfly doors opened with theatrical elegance, allowing Keoghan to step out, grab his jacket from the concept’s unconventional storage space, and pose for photos inside the minimalist, light-colored two-seater interior. This high-profile appearance on March 9 has reaffirmed Jaguar’s commitment to making a statement in the electric vehicle (EV) space.
The Future Beckons: Jaguar’s All-Electric Four-Door GT
Even as the Type 00 Concept dazzled in Paris, Jaguar’s Managing Director Rawdon Glover revealed fresh details about the brand’s next big step: an all-electric four-door GT set to launch in late 2025. This production model will carry forward the radical styling cues of the Type 00 while offering a luxurious yet performance-focused driving experience.
Glover emphasized that the upcoming GT will blend bold design with meticulous engineering, ensuring aerodynamics, safety, and high-speed capability. Spy shots of camouflaged prototypes hint at a long hood, slim LED lighting, an aggressive stance, and a coupe-like roofline—all characteristics that promise a blend of sportiness and luxury.

Craftsmanship Over Tech: A Unique Approach
In a world where EVs are increasingly defined by their technology stacks, Jaguar is taking a different route. Glover stated that the brand’s focus is on “design, craftsmanship, and engineering” rather than competing purely on tech features. “We want to create an amazing place to be in,” he noted, explaining that while technology will be present, it will be integrated subtly, ensuring a driver-centric experience rather than overwhelming digital interfaces.
Performance & Range: Jaguar’s EV Ambitions
The upcoming GT will be built on Jaguar’s bespoke Electric Architecture, ensuring optimized performance, handling, and efficiency. The EV will share its electric motors and battery tech with other JLR products but will have a uniquely tuned chassis. Jaguar is targeting an impressive range of 430 miles (692 km) and a top power output of 956 hp (735 kW / 1,000 PS) in its most powerful iteration.
Glover himself has tested a prototype at 160 mph (258 km/h), describing it as “the most fun I’ve had since taking the helm at Jaguar.” He praised the car’s acceleration, handling, and character, emphasizing that Jaguar is crafting an EV that embodies the brand’s legendary driving dynamics.
A New EV-Only Jaguar Lineup
Jaguar is fully committed to an all-electric future, with the four-door GT leading the way. Following its debut, the company plans to introduce two additional models, expected to be a luxury sedan and an SUV. These vehicles will cater to broader audiences while maintaining Jaguar’s commitment to exclusivity and premium craftsmanship.
“The GT’s job is to say: Jaguar is here and can command a price point in excess of £100,000 ($130,000). The other models will serve different roles, bringing in greater volume and accessibility,” Glover explained.
Jaguar’s EV Future is Set in Stone
Unlike some automakers that are backtracking on EV commitments, Jaguar remains firm in its mission. “We made the decision in 2021 to have a dedicated electric architecture. There isn’t the opportunity to put a V8 into it or something else. We’re committed to being electric,” Glover affirmed.
With the Type 00 capturing public imagination and the forthcoming GT shaping up to be a game-changer, Jaguar is boldly steering into its all-electric reinvention. As 2025 approaches, the world eagerly awaits the next chapter in Jaguar’s storied history—one powered entirely by electricity.
