So What’s New in macOS 15.2 Sequoia?

Apple recently dropped macOS 15.2 Sequoia: a bounty of fantastic new AI powers and new things, including making Siri work with ChatGPT. However, the most exciting thing for Mac lovers was the mention of two new models of MacBook Airs with the M4 inside, found in some software files and regulatory documents.

Leaked Details on MacBook Air M4 Models

Leak details about future MacBook Air M4 models Perusal into macOS 15.2 beams towards an appropriate relationship with model numbers “Mac16,12” and “Mac16,13,” which are considered to represent the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air M4 models. On the other side, these software strings explicitly mention the following: “MacBook Air (13-inch, M4, 2025)” and “MacBook Air (15-inch, M4, 2025),” thus adding even more credibility to the leaks.MacBook Air M4

There would be another clamorous noise because recent submissions to appropriate regulatory authorities refer to a “Front Ultra Wide Camera.” This possible feature would add capabilities comparable to those of Apple’s Center Stage and Desk View for a MacBook Air and turn these capabilities to be applied in video calls and productivity.

What Else Is There to Expect?

Two other major changes expected for the upcoming MacBook Air models are an M4 chip and an updated camera. While that might instil a little disappointment in those who want a big redesign, the design remains its old slim. All that matters is the hardware. The base configuration is suspected to contain a base of 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, two times the memory of the existing models the MacBook Air M4 in the race for best-in-class notebooks.

Where the M4 MacBook Air Stands in Apple’s Roadmap

The latest versions of MacBook Pro as well as iMac and Mac Mini come with the M4 chip under their hood. With this, the MacBook Air solidifies Apple’s commitment to the M4 processor, the Mac Studio, and the Mac Pro likely to get the same treatment later by 2025. Normally, Apple announces a few major updates at WWDC, so it could be an impending venue stage for all of these announcements.

Should You Wait for the MacBook Air M4?

The M3 MacBook Air has been hailed as the best ultra-portable laptop that will grace 2024. The M4 will go higher with better performance, more memory, and enhanced features for the camera. However, exciting as these leaks are, they remain mere speculation until Apple puts that official stamp on it.

So, keep an eye out while we gear towards an anticipated spring 2025 launch of the M4 MacBook Air, which promises to set standards in portability and performance.
