If you’re looking for a reliable, low-cost tablet, consider Apple’s last-generation iPad, which is now on sale for a short time at an unbelievable bargain. The 2021 iPad is currently available for only $229 on Amazon or $229.99 at Best Buy, matching the all-time low for this entry-level tablet. This is an incredible deal, especially because Apple abandoned this model earlier this year in favor of newer variants.

But, before you take advantage of this offer, let’s look at why this iPad is still worth considering.

First, let’s discuss the design of the ninth-generation iPad. Apple has made considerable efforts in improving the look and feel of its products, but this iPad is a bit of a throwback.

With a 10.2-inch display, substantial bezels, a dedicated home button, and a Lightning connection, it pays homage to the traditional iPad design language that Apple fans have come to know and love. The 3.5mm headphone port is a noteworthy feature that is becoming increasingly rare, allowing you to use wired headphones without the need for adapters—a significant advantage for those who like this classic audio connection.

While the appearance may appear archaic in comparison to Apple’s newer, slimmer models, its familiarity adds to its appeal. If you prefer the feel of older iPads or simply do not want the most up-to-date technology, this model may be ideal for you.

Processor Details

The 2021 iPad is powered by Apple’s A13 Bionic processor. Now you might be wondering, “Isn’t that processor a little old?” Sure, the A13 Bionic made its debut in the iPhone 11 series in 2019, but don’t be fooled.

This chip still packs a punch, providing fast performance for everyday activities. Whether you’re browsing the web, streaming your favorite shows, playing games, or performing some light multitasking, the A13 performs admirably.

Of course, it cannot compete with the raw power of Apple’s latest iPads’ M1 or M2 cores, but the A13 Bionic is more than adequate for the ordinary user. It’s ideal for individuals who want a dependable tablet for everyday usage without having to spend a lot of money on the latest models.

Display Details

The ninth-generation iPad has a 10.2-inch Retina display that isn’t as vivid or high-resolution as Apple’s premium tablets’ Liquid Retina or XDR screens, but it’s still a good screen. The colors are vivid, and the whole viewing experience is enjoyable, whether you’re reading, watching a movie, or scrolling through social media.

Camera Details

On the camera front, the iPad has an 8MP rear camera and a 12MP front camera. The rear camera is serviceable, but it won’t replace your smartphone or dedicated camera anytime soon. However, Apple’s Center Stage technology makes the front-facing camera stand out. This function automatically keeps you centered in the picture during video chats, making it ideal for distant work or catching up with family and friends via FaceTime or Zoom.

One of the drawbacks of the ninth-generation iPad is its compatibility with older accessories. It works with the first-generation Apple Pencil, which, while still useful, lacks the advanced capabilities of the second-generation Pencil, such wireless charging and touch controls. It also works with Apple’s Smart Keyboard, although it’s an older peripheral that lacks the sleekness and adaptability of modern ones.

So, who is this iPad for? If you’re searching for an economical, dependable tablet that can perform everyday chores with ease, the ninth-generation iPad is an excellent option. It is especially well-suited for:

  • Students: Its performance is more than competent for taking notes, researching, and even creating simple content.
  • Casual Users: If you primarily use a tablet for browsing, streaming, or light gaming, this iPad provides all of that for a fraction of the price of newer versions.
  • Kids or Elderly Users: Its simplicity, paired with strong parental controls and accessibility features, makes it suitable for children or elderly users who require a simple device.

How to Increase Gas Mileage: Small Driving Changes That Save Big at the Pump

Fuel prices may rise and fall, but one thing stays constant: drivers want to make every litre go further. The good news is that improving gas mileage does not always require buying a new hybrid or changing cars altogether. A few disciplined habits behind the wheel, along with basic maintenance, can make a noticeable difference over time. For most drivers, the biggest gains come from reducing waste. That means less aggressive acceleration, fewer unnecessary trips, correctly inflated tyres and a car that is mechanically healthy. Smooth Driving Uses Less Fuel The quickest way to burn more fuel is to drive as if every traffic light is a starting grid. Hard acceleration, sharp braking and sudden changes in speed force the engine to work harder and consume more petrol. A smoother approach works better. Accelerate gradually, maintain a steady speed where possible and look ahead to anticipate traffic. If a red light is visible in the distance, easing off the accelerator early is usually more efficient than rushing forward and braking hard at the last moment. Speed also matters. As speeds rise, aerodynamic drag increases and the engine needs more energy to keep the vehicle moving. On highways, staying within a sensible cruising range rather than constantly pushing at high speeds can help reduce fuel consumption. Check Tyre Pressure Regularly Tyres are easy to ignore until something goes wrong, but they play a major role in fuel economy. Under-inflated tyres create more rolling resistance, which means the engine has to use more fuel just to move the car forward. Drivers should check tyre pressure at least once a month, preferably when the tyres are cold. The correct pressure is usually listed on the driver-side door frame or in the owner’s manual. It is important not to use the maximum pressure printed on the tyre sidewall as a target. That figure is not necessarily the recommended setting for the vehicle. The US Environmental Protection Agency notes that under-inflation reduces fuel economy, increases tyre wear and adds to emissions. Stop Carrying Extra Weight A car is not a storage room. Heavy items in the boot may seem harmless, but extra weight makes the engine work harder, especially in city traffic where the vehicle is constantly stopping and starting. Clear out unnecessary tools, boxes, sports gear and other items that have been sitting in the car for weeks. Roof racks and cargo boxes can also hurt mileage by increasing aerodynamic drag. If they are not being used, remove them. This is especially relevant for drivers who spend most of their time on highways, where wind resistance becomes a bigger factor. Keep Up With Maintenance A well-maintained vehicle is usually a more fuel-efficient vehicle. Delayed oil changes, worn spark plugs, clogged air filters, dragging brakes and poor wheel alignment can all affect how efficiently a car runs. Following the manufacturer’s service schedule is the safest route. Use the recommended engine oil grade and get warning lights checked instead of ignoring them. A sudden drop in mileage can be an early sign that something needs attention. The EPA advises motorists to follow their vehicle maintenance schedule and use the recommended motor oil to support better fuel efficiency and safer operation. Combine Trips and Avoid Long Idling Short trips can be surprisingly fuel-hungry because the engine has not had enough time to reach its most efficient operating temperature. Combining errands into one planned route can reduce cold starts, unnecessary kilometres and fuel use. Idling is another quiet fuel drain. If you are waiting for an extended period, switching off the engine can be more sensible than leaving it running. Modern cars do not need long warm-up periods before driving. Start, settle for a few seconds and drive gently. The Bottom Line Better gas mileage is less about one miracle trick and more about consistent habits. Drive smoothly, maintain the right tyre pressure, remove excess weight and service the car on time. These small changes may not feel dramatic on a single trip, but over months of commuting, school runs and highway drives, they can add up to real savings.
