Ola, which has around 200 million riders on its platform across the UK, India, New Zealand, and Australia, had recently announced setting up a research unit in the Bay of Bengal to focus on new areas like the connected cars and e-vehicles.
The ride-hailing major, which is locked in a battle for marketing leaderships with the US-based Uber in India, has secured around USD 3 billion in funding.
Its investors include Tencent Holdings, Kia Motors, Sachin Bansal, Ratan Tata, SoftBank, and others.
