Netflix to Vanish from 60 TV Models in Just a Few Days! Check If Your TV’s in the List

You have to be informed about certain things – it’s news. Perhaps you sit down for the night to watch your show on the Netflix app only to discover it is not among the applications installed on your television. Shocked, right? Well, that could soon be a reality for some of us. Only in several days, Netflix will be incompatible with 60 different types of TVs. But let’s in detail discuss what is happening and how you can manage it.

Why is Netflix Disappearing?

It might interest you to know why Netflix has decided to cut off certain TVs. These models, which were developed around a decade or so ago, appear to be incapable of meeting the technical requirements of the new Netflix app. Thus, Netflix has reached the conclusion that it has outgrown these older models and it is time to move on.

Is Your TV on the Blacklist?

Well, I would recommend you to check if your television is among the affected ones to be on the safe side.

Plus many others. ..

If you do have an Apple TV, you are not exempted from this requirement as well. The app will be removed from the second and third-generation Apple TV by the end of July 2019.

Step by step Guide on How to Check Your TV Model

Having doubts if your television is among those affected?

  • It is usually printed on the back or at the lower part of the TV screen.
  • The packaging in which the particular item was packed, or the user manual that accompanied the item.
  • It can also be found in the system menu of your TV

If you do find it, look at the list on the Netflix site to see if your TV will be losing the app.

Why Are People Upset?

It comes as no surprise that quite a number of subscribers have expressed their annoyance to a certain degree. This feels like your just got the name of the TV called “Jurassic”! One of the subscribers directly pointed out that he had the feeling that he still had to pay for new hardware, although he was already making a subscription.

What Are Your Options?

If you are with the TV which is on the list, don’t worry. But there is a way for viewers to continue watching the shows they like watching. Some of the compatible devices include Amazon Fire TV Stick, Roku or even game consoles if they support the Netflix application. These devices are affordable and you may avoid having to purchase another television set all together.

Final Thoughts

Netflix is not dragging with this move; it’s just about being up with things because technology is very vital. Consider it to be similar to going from old cell phone to a smart one – difficult at first but beneficial in the long run. So, type the model of your guide in the search bar, find out if you are affected, and get prepared to adjust. Oh well, it could at least be a good reason for people to buy a new television and watch those programs even in higher resolution.
