OYO reveals OYO Lite for low connectivity places

OYO, which is Hospitality hotels and homes has now revealed a lighter version of its consumer app OYO Lite, which has been designed to work in low connectivity areas.

The Android app, which is an 800KB in size, claims to provide all the key functionalities of the flagship OYO app and is much more targeted at the travelers with the smartphone with limited storage and poor mobile networks.

“At OYO, we are committed to creating multiple touch-points with guests for a convenient and comfortable experience by leveraging our technology prowess. The Lite app is a step forward in that direction and will enable travelers to make last minute travel plans without worrying about network and availability of quality accommodations at the tap of a button” said Anil Goel, Chief Technology Officer, OYO Hotels & Homes.

OYO also joins a list of internet companies like the Amazon, Ola, TikTok, Flipkart, Google, Facebook and LinkedIn, Microsoft, Twitter who have also launched similar lightweight apps of their own offerings in the country in the previous years.
