Assisting more than 300 retailers in their growth across cities in India

New Delhi, August 3, 2015: – Hyperlocal has become the buzzword for shopping e-commerce portals today and reflecting the success of this unique model is PepperTap, a mobile first, hyperlocal grocery delivery service in India that has recently scaled to new heights by clocking 10,000 orders per day. With its best-in-breed catalogue of a wide range of fresh, hand-picked grocery products, timely delivery and the sheer convenience that it provides, it is steadily securing an indispensable place in urban homes as the fastest on demand grocery platform.

Currently, PepperTap features over 10,000 grocery products from retailers listed on its website ranging from food mart, grocery & staples, fruits & vegetables to household. It has extended its categories to include meats, dog food and cosmetics as well. The company has been constantly upgrading its operations in order to provide a seamless, hassle-free and swift shopping experience as per customers’ requirements.

Its endeavor to connect buyers to their local retailers has also enabled the latter to grow by contributing up to 30 to 40 % of their total revenue. PepperTap has been assisting over 300 retailers to consolidate with the e-commerce ecosystem based in Delhi NCR, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Chandigarh, Jaipur & Kolkata.

On the most recent weekend sale, PepperTap was able to clock more than 14,000 orders per day across the country with the GMV greater than 1.2 crore.

Navneet Singh, Co-Founder, PepperTap commented, “At PepperTap, we have optimized our services through expansion not only city-wise, but in terms of product categories and team strength as well. PepperTap is going big with increasing orders per day, supported by a team strength of 1000+ and current GMV runrate of 275 crores.  Our recent feat acknowledges the fact that we are on the right track. We wish to steadily imprint our presence across the country to further build a strong and loyal customer base.”

PepperTap has established its presence in the high potential markets of Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Kolkata. It recently expanded its orbit to cover Kolkata and Chennai and is set to bring Surat, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Vizag with a total of 30 more cities within its fold by the end of 2015. These cities will include tier-1, tier-2 and all the capital cities of the country.

The company received Series A funding of USD 10 million from SAIF Partners and Sequoia Capital in April which is being leveraged to put in place a highly-skilled team that is in sync with global standards and to enable sustainable city-wise expansion.

PepperTap is the fastest on-demand grocery delivery service in India that provides convenience, on-time and on-demand delivery to its patrons, along with superlative services and hand-picked products. The company is based out of Gurgaon, Haryana, and kick started its operations in November 2014. It aims to provide patrons with best-in-breed experience in the least possible time.

The company’s business model is unique to India and similar to Instacart in the US.  PepperTap has already raised series A round of funding of $10 million by Sequoia Capital and SAIF Partners.
