To celebrate PlayStation’s 30th anniversary, Sony has a present for its gamers—a new, free title inspired by the beloved franchise. The game, My First Gran Turismo, will be released on December 6 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and is available without a PlayStation Plus subscription.
Paying Tribute to PlayStation
It has now been three decades since the first introduction of the PlayStation brand. Over the years, the brand has become one of the most iconic brands in gaming culture. Therefore, My First Gran Turismo marks its significance by referring to its original release in 1997. This new addition is truly catered towards accessibility, thus making it the perfect game for newcomers to both the franchise and the racing genre.
Features and Accessibility
This game is easiest for beginners simply focusing on building their fundamental driving skills, such as turning, braking, and speeding up. For those who may want a more action-packed experience, My First Gran Turismo also incorporates PS VR2 for a greater experience with movements.
In fact, according to Kazunori Yamauchi, president of Polyphony Digital, the aim of this release goes beyond fun.
“This isn’t just about playing a game; it’s about embarking on a personal driving journey,”
he shared on the PlayStation blog. The intuitive design ensures that players can build up the confidence to develop skills through successive challenges.
Game Modes and Circuits
My First Gran Turismo boasts a whole basket full of Race Events, Time Trials, and Music Rally modes. These modes offer different gameplay experiences, with the option of driving more than 18 different cars and racing on outstanding tracks, such as the Kyoto Driving Park and Trial Mountain Circuit.
This would then be appropriate for either a fan who has been playing Gran Turismo for years or someone new who is looking forward to exploring the franchise with this gift that helps celebrate PlayStation’s great 30-year journey. Download it from the PlayStation Store starting December 6!
