Sony has kicked off its Black Friday promotion sooner than expected, slashing $100 off several PS5 console models. The deals went live starting November 21 and run through December 18, 2025, or until supplies last.

What’s on Sale, Big Discounts Across the Lineup

Here are the key PS5 deals:

  • PS5 Digital Edition (Slim): Now $399, down from $499, the lowest price of the year.
  • PS5 Slim (Standard, with disc drive): $449, also $100 off.
  • PS5 Pro: Discounted to $649 (from $749), available at Amazon, Walmart, Target, and more.

These prices bring back some relief after prior PS5 price hikes.

What Makes the PS5 Pro Deal Noteworthy

The PS5 Pro isn’t just a regular PS5, it’s the high-performance variant with:

  • A more powerful GPU and faster memory, improving visuals and performance.
  • AI upscaling capabilities to boost resolution in supported games.
  • 2 TB of internal storage, double that of many base PS5 models.
  • Support for Wi-Fi 7, helping reduce input lag and improve online play.

That said, reviewers note that unless you’re very close to your TV, the graphical improvement may not feel dramatic and only “PS5 Pro Enhanced” games fully tap its power.

Why These Deals Matter

  1. Regaining Value After Price Hikes
Back in August, Sony raised PS5 prices due to U.S.-imposed tariffs. This $100 discount feels like a partial rollback for consumers.
  2. More Affordable for High-Performance Gaming
Previously, the Pro was a significant premium. Now at $649, it’s more accessible especially for serious gamers or those upgrading.
  3. Boost for the PS5 Ecosystem
The sale includes not just hardware but accessories too:

    • DualSense controllers: up to $30 off
    • DualSense Edge controller: also discounted
    • PlayStation Portal, PS VR2, and other gear are part of the Black Friday lineup.

These broad cuts make this a strong moment for both newcomers and long-time PlayStation fans.

Things to Consider Before You Buy

  • True Discount?
While it’s a $100 cut, some argue it’s less of a discount than it seems: the Pro’s price was raised earlier in the year, so this may just bring it back toward “normal.”
  • Regional Variability
Prices and availability may vary by country or retailer. Check local retailers or the PlayStation Direct store for your region.
  • Stock Risks
These deals are limited-time and while they run to mid-December, popular consoles like the Pro may sell out fast.

Sony’s Black Friday 2025 deal is a solid one: $100 off all current-gen PS5 consoles, including the Pro. Whether you’re buying a console for the first time or upgrading to more power, now’s a strong window especially with extras like discounted controllers and VR gear also on offer.
