One of the prominent insiders from the industry revealed that the PlayStation 5 Pro will be available for sale by mid-September 2024. According to the reports which were recorded in a long document that had all the details about the official titles and design components of the new PS5 upgrade. Since many industry insiders have long speculated that the newest PlayStation console is receiving a mid-generation upgrade, the PS5 Pro has been one of Sony’s worst-kept secrets. Several recent sources claim that the much-awaited gadget will launch in time for the 2024 holiday season. If the release schedule holds true, Sony’s newest console model should be officially unveiled in the upcoming weeks.
Reports on expected PS5 Pro September sale
The recent reports by Dealabs’ Billbil-kun, suggest that Sony is all set to reveal the PS5 Pro in early September 2024. That’s exactly what will take place. The accusation is that the system might follow the PS4 Pro’s reveal-to-release timeline, which saw the latter go on sale 2.5 months after its ceremonial unveiling in early September 2016. According to the reports by Italian Gaming Magazine name Multiplayer in his August report hinted that September 2024 would be the expected date for the PS5 Pro launch or may be launched sooner or later.
The fact that the PS5 Pro is exclusively available digitally may seem worrisome in light of recent price tag leaks. Jeff Grubb of Giant Bomb recently hinted that the new PS5 would cost as much as $700 or even $600. Given the entire sales of the PS5, it is still anticipated that Sony may place it in a desirable limit.
Allegedly, the PS5 Pro Will Look Slightly Different From the PS5 Slim
In line with earlier rumors, the Dealabs leak also claims that the device’s official name will be the PlayStation 5 Pro. Furthermore, according to Billbil-kun, they even witnessed the console’s retail packaging, indicating that the design of the system will differ slightly from that of the PS5 Slim and the original PS5 model. More specifically, instead of just the one on the outside of the PS5 Slim, the PS5 Pro is rumored to have three slightly inclined horizontal lines on both sides of its chassis. Similar to the PS5 Slim, the console is also said to contain two USB-C ports adjacent to the power button.
According to the retail packaging that Billbil-kun provided, the device will not include a disc drive. However, this does not exclude Sony from releasing a DVD version as well. Actually, the PS5 Pro will probably be modular, similar to the Slim model, meaning that users will be able to buy a disc drive apart from the console. According to the same source, the DualSense controller that comes with the upcoming console version will be the same as the one that was unveiled with the PS5.
It seems like a very safe bet that the PS5 Pro will be released in late 2024 given the abundance of recent leaks on the device. The pricing of the undisclosed gadget and whether Sony will be persuaded to subject the PS5 to a permanent price reduction upon its release are two things that need to be seen.
