Samsung is preparing for its Galaxy Unpacked event with a new teaser that shows the company is really improving its AI assistant capabilities. The preview shows a more sophisticated approach to voice commands that could outpace Apple’s recent AI developments.

In a press release released yesterday, Samsung highlighted enhancements to its Sketch-To-Image tool, but the company’s latest teaser suggests even more substantial AI improvements are on the horizon.

Samsung Previews Next-Gen Bixby with Multi-task Capabilities

The demonstration video features a seamless interaction where a user makes multiple requests in a single command – asking to find a pet-friendly Italian restaurant with outdoor seating, sharing the details with a contact, and adding the reservation to their calendar, all in one natural sentence.

This advancement represents a significant leap forward in AI assistant functionality, moving beyond the current norm of sequential, single-task commands. The system’s ability to process multiple requests across different applications simultaneously suggests a more sophisticated understanding of context and user intent.

Industry analysts believe this enhanced functionality is likely powered by an upgraded version of Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant.

Reports indicate that Samsung has been developing a major overhaul of Bixby with Large Language Model (LLM) support, which was quietly introduced in China on the Galaxy Tab S10. While this advanced version wasn’t included in the recent Galaxy Z Fold 6 or Galaxy Z Flip 6 releases, sources suggest it will make its global debut with the Galaxy S25 series as part of the OneUI 7 update.

The timing of this announcement appears strategic, as it comes when Apple’s Siri is still catching up in terms of advanced AI capabilities.

AI Takes Center Stage at Samsung’s Next Event

While Apple has introduced a more conversational Siri through Apple Intelligence, full app voice control integration isn’t expected until iOS 18.4’s release in March.

The upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event is expected to showcase more than just AI improvements. The primary focus will likely be on the new flagship lineup, including the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra.

Samsung is also anticipated to provide updates on Project Moohan, though speculation about the Galaxy S25 Slim and Galaxy Ring 2 suggests these devices might not be featured at the event.

This latest teaser is part of a broader move by Samsung in an effort to place itself in the forefront regarding AI integration with mobile devices. The ability to naturally handle complex, multi-step commands could constitute a major breakthrough in how humans interact with smartphones, possibly forming a new bar for AI assistants in mobile.

Before the Galaxy Unpacked, expect more teasers from Samsung, which would highlight even more of what these new devices have in store for its customers. That being said, this event would indeed provide the full view of how Samsung’s future vision will look to mobile technology and where AI fits into it.
