Former FTX CEO Sam Bankam said will testify before US Congress

SBF gives an embarrassingly disrespectful and non chalant interview on Twitter spaces with Unusual whales and 5 other panelists. He was answering several questions regarding the FTX collapse. However, all of his answers begin with “to the best of the knowledge”, “I don’t have data on this”, and so much more. That’s still fine, you can’t expect someone to remember everything.

But, one of the panellists, Molly White, asked him whether he was playing video games because we could hear a constant clicking sound in the live stream, and Scam Bankman Fried (my bad, Sam) admitted to playing video games.

The next panellist Cas Piancey even said that he finds Sam playing video games on the live stream extremely disrespectful. So many people have lost their money because of FTX, and Sam hardly has any empathy.

I kept wondering what the constant clicks were that I kept hearing. Thankfully someone flat out asked him if he was playing video games and he answered “yes”

Sam was also asked who their banking partners were, but he didn’t even have a proper answer to that. He did say that in the earlier days, when FTX did not have a bank account, the user funds were transferred to Alameda, and they used to transfer the funds to FTX.

@SBF_FTX confirms in Twitter spaces that $SI was largest banking partner to FTX/Alameda as stock hits new lows.

Another panellist also asked when FTX bank accounts were made, were the user assets transferred to their accounts? And the short answer was No!

Most of his other answers also had zero value and the answers were also circles. Kaleo, one of the panelists said at the end when SBF left abruptly, “Dude, I’ll just comment. I think everything about his approach is completely embarrassing and just the fact that he can justify playing a game in the 1st place during any of these, you know, continued. And the fact that he can laugh it off and think that it’s just this casual, you know, nonchalant answer, First off, is incredibly disrespectful to both the people that he’s speaking to and also the people that are listening and affected by this situation.”

While, Tracy Wang, an editor from Coindesk also gave her closing thoughts. She said, “Oh no, I totally agree. I think it was super interesting that, you know, when I asked him why he would do media interviews without a prayer in front of Congress, he basically said that he was OK with wasting the public’s time but didn’t want to waste the time of like the politicians.”

We can even conclude from the interview that Alameda was basically stealing the funds send by the users and they were never transferrd to FTX.

It was a one hour interview but this was all that’s important that we could deduce from the call.

We will see him again tommorow at 10 am EST. Let’s see if we get any proper answers then.
