Solana Mobile’s upcoming “Chapter 2” mobile device hits 100k pre-orders in less than 30 days, prompting the company to end its early preorder price of $450 within 48 hours. The company anticipates shipping the product in the first half of 2025, marking a significant milestone for the tech firm.

Building on the success of its previous product, the Saga smartphone, Solana Mobile hits 100k pre-orders. Despite initial challenges and underwhelming sales by December 6, 2023, the company managed to overcome obstacles and capture a substantial market share.

However, Solana Mobile’s triumphs were not without hurdles. The surge in demand for Saga smartphones in December led to an inventory depletion, with the company facing challenges in managing orders. This ultimately resulted in the cancellation of orders beyond the company’s fulfillment capabilities.

The latest offering, “Chapter 2,” hints at a potential change in strategy for Solana Mobile. While the original Saga device was a smartphone, the company’s website avoids confirming the latest device as a phone, stating only that it is mobile. This subtle shift raises questions about the nature and capabilities of “Chapter 2.”

Solana Mobile’s December success has been linked to the Solana-based memecoin, BONK. Although the company provides limited insight into the surge in sales, it acknowledges the impact of Solana developers. Notably, each Saga smartphone purchase included rights to claim BONK in an airdrop, contributing to the product’s popularity.

While it remains unclear whether “Chapter 2” will experience a similar surge in profitability based on market conditions, Solana Mobile promises users enticing reward programs. The company aims to replicate past successes by offering reward programs sponsored by prominent entities in the crypto space.

Previous Success with Saga Smartphones

Solana Mobile, known for its Saga smartphones, achieved remarkable success as hits 100k pre-orders in a single day. Despite an initial slow start, the company reported overwhelming demand on December 21, 2023, leading to a depletion of global inventory. However, inventory management challenges resulted in the cancellation of orders beyond the company’s fulfillment capacity.

Change in Strategy with “Chapter 2”

Unlike its predecessor, “Chapter 2” is not explicitly confirmed as a smartphone. The company’s website, in response to the FAQ “Is Chapter 2 a phone?” states that the device is mobile, suggesting a potential shift in Solana Mobile’s product strategy.

Reward sponsors for “Chapter 2” include NFT marketplaces Magic Eden, DRIP, and Tensor, Solana wallets Solflare and Phantom, NFT wallet Backpack, and DEX Jupiter.

Sales Boosted by BONK Memecoin

The surge in demand for Solana Mobile’s products in December was attributed to the rise in value of the Solana-based memecoin BONK. Each Saga smartphone purchase included rights to claim BONK in an airdrop, contributing to the device’s popularity. While it remains uncertain if “Chapter 2” will follow a similar trend, Solana Mobile assures users of potential benefits through reward programs.

Potential for Profitability and Reward Programs

Solana Mobile has not provided explicit reasons for its December sales success but suggests the involvement of Solana developers. The upcoming “Chapter 2” device is expected to offer reward programs, with sponsors including NFT marketplaces such as Magic Eden, DRIP, and Tensor, as well as Solana wallets like Solflare and Phantom. Users can earn rewards through referral links and Chapter 2 Preorder Tokens.

Exciting Prospects for Solana Mobile

Solana Mobile’s “Chapter 2” device has garnered substantial interest, with an impressive number of preorders in a short span. The company’s ability to adapt its strategy and capitalize on market trends, coupled with the promise of reward programs, positions Solana Mobile for an exciting trajectory in the mobile device market.
