Bengaluru-based health-tech startup Ultrahuman has closed a fresh Series C funding round of around ₹400 crore (approximately $48 million), marking another milestone in its growth journey. The funding comes at a crucial time as the company looks to expand its footprint in the global wearables market.

According to people familiar with the development, the round was reportedly led by Premji Invest. However, founder and CEO Mohit Kumar has denied that Premji Invest participated, choosing not to disclose further details about investors. Despite the lack of clarity around the investor lineup, the size of the funding highlights continued interest in India’s fast-growing health-tech and wearable devices segment, especially companies focusing on metabolic health and performance tracking.

Funds to Drive Global Expansion and New Products:

The company plans to use the fresh capital to support its re-entry into the US market with its redesigned smart ring, expand into new geographies, and invest in developing new wearable categories. A senior executive at Ultrahuman indicated that the company is exploring new product lines beyond its current offerings. These may include devices in different form factors, such as wrist-based wearables, as well as products designed for home use. The company is also expected to continue investing in research and development to strengthen its product ecosystem.

Ultrahuman has been steadily building a portfolio of health-focused products, including smart rings, glucose monitoring systems, and health tracking services. Founded in 2019, the company has positioned itself at the intersection of fitness, healthcare, and consumer technology. The Series C funding is also expected to help the startup scale its operations internationally and compete more aggressively with global players in the wearable technology market.

Comeback Plans After US Market Setback:

The funding round comes at a critical juncture for Ultrahuman, as it prepares to return to the US market following a legal setback. Its earlier product, Ring Air, had faced restrictions after a patent dispute with rival Oura. The US International Trade Commission had ruled in favour of Oura, resulting in restrictions on the import and sale of Ultrahuman’s earlier ring model. The case revolved around design-related patents, particularly the structure and integration of components within the smart ring.

To address these concerns, Ultrahuman has redesigned its new product, Ring Pro, from the ground up. The company says the updated device avoids the patent issues that affected its predecessor and is now cleared to re-enter the US market. Internally, the company sees this approval as a major breakthrough, opening up one of the world’s most competitive wearable markets once again.

Strong Investor Backing and Growth Outlook:

With this round, Ultrahuman has now raised over $60 million in equity funding from investors such as Rainmatter Capital, Nexus Venture Partners, Blume Ventures, Alpha Wave Incubation, and Steadview Capital. It has also secured ₹100 crore in venture debt from Alteria Capital in late 2025. The company’s product lineup continues to evolve, with its latest Ring Pro focusing on performance improvements such as longer battery life and enhanced computing capabilities. While the earlier Ring Air prioritised lightweight design and comfort, the new version aims to deliver more advanced features for serious users.

Ultrahuman’s strategy appears to be centred on building a comprehensive health ecosystem that combines hardware, software, and data insights. With rising global interest in preventive healthcare and fitness tracking, the company is well placed to benefit from this trend. The ₹400 crore Series C round not only strengthens its financial position but also signals confidence in its long-term vision. As it pushes into international markets and diversifies its product portfolio, Ultrahuman is aiming to establish itself as a serious contender in the global wearables space.
