For the third consecutive year, cricketer Virat Kohli retains the title of India’s highest-value celebrity brand with an impressive brand valuation of $231.1 million. According to Kroll’s latest report, Kohli’s vast endorsement portfolio includes prominent names such as PUMA, MRF Tyres, Audi, Myntra, and Nestlé. His consistent presence and influence across diverse sectors make him the most bankable face in Indian advertising, surpassing Bollywood superstars in brand worth.

Ranveer Singh and Shah Rukh Khan Follow Behind:

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh holds the second position with a brand value of $170.7 million, though this marks a decline compared to the previous year. Shah Rukh Khan comes in third at $145.7 million, buoyed by a successful comeback at the box office. Khan’s resurgence through hit films increased his brand appeal and endorsement value by nearly 21%. Alia Bhatt is fourth with $116.4 million, continuing her upward trajectory as a leading celebrity face for brands.

Sachin Tendulkar and Other Leading Celebrities Make Surprising Moves:

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar made a notable leap to the fifth spot with a brand valuation of $112.2 million, driven by a surge in endorsements. His enduring appeal remains a powerful asset for brands. The rest of the top ten features familiar names like Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, MS Dhoni, Hrithik Roshan, and Amitabh Bachchan, reflecting a blend of sports and entertainment personalities dominating India’s ad landscape. The total brand value of the top 25 celebrities crossed $2 billion in 2024, an 8.6% increase from 2023.

Virat Kohli’s Consistent Brand Value Growth Amid Market Changes:

Virat Kohli’s brand worth in 2024 was $231.1 million, a 2% increase from $227.9 million the year before, strengthening his position as India’s most valuable celebrity brand. Even if the growth of celebrity brand values has generally slowed, Kohli’s strong endorsement portfolio which includes lifestyle, sportswear, and automobile brands is what keeps him so appealing. With more than 387 million followers, he has a significant social media presence that increases his marketability and influence. Experts in the area attribute his steady brand expansion to both his on-field accomplishments and his off-field business endeavors, making him a major force in India’s celebrity economy.

Virat Kohli’s Lucrative Endorsement Deals Boost Brand Value:

Virat Kohli’s status as India’s top celebrity brand is greatly supported by his extensive endorsement portfolio, featuring over 30 major brands across diverse sectors. Some of his highest-profile partnerships include deals with MRF Tyres worth Rs 12.5 crore annually, Audi India, Myntra, Blue Star, Manyavar, Hero MotoCorp, and Noise. He also endorses lifestyle and technology brands like Vivo and Toothsi. In 2023, Kohli became the brand ambassador for HSBC India and launched campaigns focused on financial empowerment. His endorsement deals not only bring substantial revenue but also reinforce his image as a fitness icon and style influencer, making him a favorite among marketers seeking to leverage his vast social media presence and credibility.

Increasing Influence of Female Celebrities and Emerging Stars:

Women occupy 36% of the top 25 celebrity brands, signifying their sustained and growing importance in India’s endorsement market. Leading names include Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Rashmika Mandanna, Anushka Sharma, and Ananya Panday. Rising stars like Kiara Advani have seen their brand value jump significantly, reshaping celebrity influence with a mix of traditional and digital presence. This diversification signals a dynamic shift in advertising, blending local heritage with global reach. Virat Kohli’s commanding lead as India’s biggest celebrity brand, along with diverse shifts in Bollywood and sports personalities, showcases evolving trends in celebrity endorsements driven by audience engagement and brand strategies.
