Xiaomi has launched a new smartphone series – Play Series. Xiaomi Mi Play is the first smartphone in this series. This smartphone is also the first smartphone with a waterdrop Notch from Xiaomi.
The smartphone has a 5.84 inch Full HD+ display. The resolution of display is 2280×1080 pixels. The smartphone has 19:9 screen aspect ratio. The smartphone display has a waterdrop Notch at top, but it also has thick bezels. The smartphone has poly-carbonate glossy back.
Xiaomi Mi Play has a MediaTek P35 processor. The Helio P35 is an octa-core chip. The chip is built on 12 nm design. It has PowerVR GE8320 GPU from Imagination Technologies.
The smartphone has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB Internal Storage. The Internal Storage is a eMMC 5.1 storage. The smartphone supports Micro-SD card of upto 128 GB. It has a dedicated Micro-SD card slot.
The smartphone has a 3000 mAh battery. The smartphone runs on MIUI 10 built on Android Oreo out of the box. Some of Xiaomi smartphones have already got Pie update, so it’s strange that the company launched the smartphone on Oreo.
The smartphone has dual rear camera setup. The primary rear camera is of 12 MP. The primary rear camera has f/2.2 aperture. The secondary rear camera is of 2 MP. The smartphone has a 8 MP front camera.
The smartphone is priced at 1,099 Yuan (about $160 or about ₹11,190). This is another mid-range smartphone from Xiaomi. The smartphone has been launched in China. Let’s see whether the company brings the smartphone to other countries or not.
