Leading online bus ticketing and cab booking platform in India, YatraGenie, on Wednesday launched taxi rental services in Bengaluru.

Yatra Genie launched city taxi facility with 100 government licensed radio cabs within the city and 50 cabs for outstation travel. The company will be partnering with cab operators to introduce 1000 cabs within the city and 500 taxis for out station travel in future.

“The taxi service market is projected to significantly grow in the coming years. Clearly, the market is under-served and there is still room for new players that can innovate and serve customers better, not just in metro cities but also in tier two cities,” YatraGenie President and CEO Renil Komitla said.

By the end of 2015, YatraGenie is planning to set up operations in 65 cities and towns with an inventory of 25,000 cabs.

Users can go to the Yatra Genie website or use the Android app to make bookings. With bus and cab bookings bundeled together on a single platfrm, Yarta Genie is becoming a single platform for multiple travel needs of users.

Apart from Bangalore, YatraGenie has already launched services in Nellore, Tirupati, Gudur, Kavali and Vijayawada.
