Hyderabad-based student mobility startup ZeroMoblt has successfully raised ₹1.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round, marking an important milestone in the early-stage journey of the company as it seeks to innovate how students travel across campuses and cities. The round was co-led by Sandeep Varaganti, CEO of JioMart, along with Dr. Ashok Agrawal and a group of high-net-worth individuals, signalling strong investor confidence in the startup’s vision and technology-led approach.

ZeroMoblt, founded in April 2024 by Vijay Ganagam and Alfred Lazarus, seeks to reinvent student transportation and mobility infrastructure by integrating logistics, safety procedures, tracking, discovery services, and subscription-based features into a single platform. The new funding is expected to help the company accelerate product development, expand operations, and strengthen its underlying AI-native technology stack.

Funding to Fuel AI-Driven Operations and Expansion:

The pre-seed funding round, which brought in ₹1.5 crore, will be deployed to build out key aspects of ZeroMoblt’s operational and technological capabilities, according to the founders. The startup plans to enhance its AI-native platform, emphasising route optimisation, real-time safety monitoring, and compliance automation to ensure a safer and more efficient mobility experience for students. These capabilities are seen as critical to scaling the business across new regions and educational hubs.

ZeroMoblt is also working on developing decentralised intelligence layers powered by Edge AI to make its platform more resilient, adaptable, and capable of processing data locally for real-time decision-making. This infrastructure focus highlights the company’s commitment to combining cutting-edge technology with practical mobility solutions that can meet the complex demands of student travel in urban and semi-urban environments.

Speaking about the funding, the co-founders noted that the capital will not only help refine the company’s AI-driven offerings but also support expansion into major educational markets in India. Cities such as Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Chennai and Mumbai have been identified for increased engagement with institutional partners and broadening the startup’s footprint across diverse regions.

Operational Footprint and Institutional Partnerships:

Since its beginning, ZeroMoblt has progressively expanded its reach and collaborations in the student mobility industry. The company claims to have already collaborated with over 15 educational institutions to provide a compliance-driven student mobility model that prioritizes safety and operational transparency. To far, ZeroMoblt has completed over 3.4 million student trips across 147 Hyderabad pincodes, showing early momentum and real-world application of its platform.

The startup’s fleet network currently includes over 3,000 vehicles, all of which operate under compliance coverage designed to meet regulatory requirements and institutional expectations. ZeroMoblt’s integrated app ecosystem offers mobility logistics, safety tracking, transportation discovery and subscription services, making it a comprehensive solution for institutions seeking dependable travel options for students.

Founders Ganagam and Lazarus have emphasised the importance of building a compliance-first infrastructure that aligns safety, scalability and trust, especially in a sector like student mobility where accountability and reliability are paramount. The company’s operational model blends technology with on-ground service delivery to ensure that institutions and students alike can rely on its network for everyday transportation needs.

Industry Context and Future Prospects:

The pre-seed funding secured by ZeroMoblt reflects broader investor interest in early-stage startups that address urban challenges with tech-driven solutions. In India, as cities grow and educational institutions expand, demand for structured, safe, and efficient mobility options for students continues to rise. With urban congestion and transport safety being key concerns, solutions that streamline student travel while embedding advanced technology are increasingly attractive to investors and partners.

The involvement of high-profile backers like Sandeep Varaganti, a prominent leader in the Indian corporate ecosystem adds credibility and visibility to ZeroMoblt’s mission. Angel investor participation also suggests that the startup’s vision resonates beyond mobility alone, touching on themes of logistics efficiency, AI integration, and urban infrastructure innovation.

ZeroMoblt plans to build on its present momentum by expanding its university alliances, improving its AI-driven operational framework, and entering new markets. The infusion of money at this early stage gives the company the runway it needs to test, refine, and extend its solutions at a rate that meets the changing needs of educational institutions and their student populations. With a defined roadmap and early traction, ZeroMoblt’s journey from startup concept to potentially essential participant in the student mobility ecosystem illustrates both the obstacles and opportunities inherent in India’s fast changing digital and transportation sector.
