Pune-based hyperlocal delivery startup Tokri has raised $2.5mn from a pre-Series A round of funding from Syska LED group.
Tokri plans to utilize the funds in order to to upgrade technology to improve the customer experience and expand business by setting up warehouses in Pune and other cities. A part of the money will also go into brand building and marketing.
Tokri is a one stop portal where fresh fruits, vegetables and groceries are available. It delivers products at your door step.
Founded just an year back, Orange Etokri India Pvt. Ltd, which operates tokri.com, was founded by Neeraj Kansa and Ishant Goyal. They startup follows a hybrid model comprising marketplace and inventory and sources grocery from distributors, wholesalers and neighbourhood stores. It procures vegetables and fruits directly from farmers.
