20 Jun. 16, BENGALURU: Kalyan Krishnamurthy – Managing Director of Tiger Global Management and former chief financial officer, is set to return back to Flipkart to head category management and be reporting directly to CEO – Binny Bansal.

According to sources and reports by ET, a spokesperson for Flipkart said, “The decision to bring back an old time Flipkart-hand-Kalyan-to strengthen our leadership team, was taken by the management team led by Binny Bansal. Kalyan will head category design organisation and will report to Binny.

Tiger Global Management have not yet responded to ET  to email questions on regarding Krishnamurthy’s employment with the company and remaining to hold board positions in its portfolio companies such as Delhivery, Caratlane and Zopper.

Krishnamurthy joined Tiger Global in 2011 as Director, Finance – Portfolio Companies and was later escalated as Managing Director of the company. He joined Flipkart as an interim CFO in early 2013, after Karandeep Singh’s departure from the company citing personal reasons. Krishnamurthy completed his MBA from Asian Institute of Management and has rich experience working with P&G and E-Bay prior joining Tiger Global.
