Mahindra has revealed a baby version of its cheetah inspired popular SUV XUV500. Mahindra has announced that the official name of its sub-4 meter compact SUV concept S201 will be XUV300.
Mahindra today announced the name and some pictures of the new SUV while the launch has been scheduled for the February next year. The XUV300 carries the basic design of the compact SUVs like the Creta or Vitara Brezza. It has the signature Mahindra grille at the front with sharp 7 shaped LED DRLs.

The overall design looks promising and kind of what the Indian customers have liked so far. Though the SUV is inspired by the XUV500, it has an all new body and design of its own. An image of the interior of the XUV 300 has also been released which shows convincingly feature-rich.
XUV300 will have features like the Android auto and Apple Carplay connectivity, a sunroof and rear parking camera with sensors. It will also have 7 airbags which will be the first in its segment. Though there is no clarification if it will be offered as standard.

Mahindra has announced that the XUV300 will be offered with both petrol and diesel engines. As for the initial launch, only a manual gearbox will be offered. The company has also said that it is working on the electrification of the car as well and the electrified version of the SUV will be seen in 2020.
The XUV300 will be officially launched in February next year. When comes to market, it will have to battle a tough competition from the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Creta, Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster, depending on the price Mahindra chooses to offer it for.
