Porsche has revealed 718 Boxster T and Cayman T models, made for the enthusiasts with the focus more on the fun of driving. For Porsche, the ‘T’ in the name traditionally stands for ‘Touring’, and “is synonymous with driving pleasure in its purest form.”
The Boxster T and Cayman T come with 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 295 horsepower and 380 Nm of peak torque. For the purists, the engine comes with a six-speed manual gearbox while or a PDK automatic gearbox will also be offered as an option.

The setup helps both models to sprint from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.9 seconds with the manual gearbox, while the PDK is 0.2 seconds quicker. Moreover, in the Sport Plus mode, the 718 T siblings touch 96 km/h in just 4.5 seconds on their way to the top speed of 275 km/h.
Though the most of the exterior of the T models are identical to the standard 718 Boxster and Cayman, there are some highlights to make these models look apart. The Agate Grey mirror caps and 20-inch wheels with a high-gloss titanium grey finish are unique and so are the black sports exhaust at the rear. Side straps with “718 Boxster T” or “718 Cayman T” badging also help them to show their identity.

Inside the cabin, number of changes have been done. There is a new GT sports steering wheel and sports seats with “718” embroidery on the headrests. Porsche has removed the infotainment system from the cars to save weight but the customers can choose to install in at no additional cost. The Sport Chrono package is offered as standard for the 718 T. THe package includes Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual driving modes, which can be selected using the Mode switch on the steering wheel.

Buyers can choose from a long list of exterior colours for the cars including black, Indian Red, Racing Yellow and white as well as Carrara White, Deep Black and GT Silver metallic. Porsche is also offering Lava Orange and Miami Blue as special colours. Porsche says the 718 T buyers will enjoy a price advantage of 5 – 10% compared to a similarly equipped basic model.
