21 March 2016, Bangalore : The hospitality brand of Neocell Technologies India, Room on Call announces its closure of $2 million funding round led by Cash ur Drive (CUD) via Enablers. Last year, this startup had secured $300K in angel funding led by Payal Syal, the U.S. based Senior Executive at Yahoo. The venture plans to utilize the latest funding towards team expansion, increasing its geographical reach & facilities and also to foster their business & marketing domain.
Room on Call, a branded budget accommodation marketplace allows business and leisure travellers to book a budget room online or through the direct booking in the absence of internet connection while travelling.
Commenting on the funding Nirupma Dhawan, CEO, Room on Call, proclaims, “The fresh funding will be used for marketing and strengthening operation in metros along with expanding presence in tier 2 and 3 cities. We will add new members to the current team of 27 and scale up operations to make a pan-India presence. We aim to put together those non-star category under one brand and then standardize properties to give an unforgettable hospitality to our customers.”
Conceptualized by Nirupma, Pradeep Sajjan and Amit Goel in 2015,The company recently launched a mobile app to enhance its customers’ experience. It currently has over 8000 rooms across over 42 cities under its portal and is planning to scale this to 150 locations and 20,000 rooms in India by this year end. Enablers, a web-based deal-enabling platform has been playing a role of adviser to the start up for fundraising and implementing growth plans through raising capital.
