New Delhi, Aug 5 (PTI) : Online shopping firm ShopClues, which has recently entered into refurbished smartphones segment, expects sales worth Rs 100 crore in the next 3-4 months from the category and gradually expand into laptops, tablets and other devices.

“We have realised that there is a big market for refurbished products. Two months back we started with selling Unbox mobile phones, We have seen 100 per cent month on month growth. We expect to sell Rs 100 crore worth refurbished smartphones in 3-4 months,” ShopClues AVP Nitin Kochhar told PTI.

He said that ShopClues has entered into an agreement with companies owning product to offer six month warranty on them.

“Most of the companies have agreed to our proposal. At present 95 per cent of unboxed products are covered with six company warranty and we are selling them at about 20-50 per cent less price than market offered price,” Kochhar said.

The Unboxed range of smartphones that ShopClues is selling encompasses brands like Samsung, Asus, Lenevo, Xiaomi and OnePlus etc.

“More brands will be launched under this category in the coming months buoyed by its high popularity and demand. Unboxed products are neither defective nor previously used. This category simply refers to items that were returned to the seller for reasons such as dispatch of the wrong model,” Kochhar said.

He said the company is working on other types of products as well and plans to start selling computers in next 1-2 months under unbox or refurbished category.
