Fantasy sports startup Halaplay Secures Rs 40 Crore

Nazara Technologies, which is a Mobile Gaming startup along with the listed casino gaming company Delta Corp, have now together invested Rs 40 crore in the fantasy sports player, Halaplay Technologies. This is the startup Series A funding round.

Nazara is an existing backer of the Mumbai based company which also counts Kae Capital as a seed stage investor in the company.

The gaming startup was founded by the Prateek Anand, Swapnil Saurav, Aman Kesari, and Ananya Singhal in the year 2017 and has secured Rs 7 crore in the funding round till date.

With the help of this new funds, Halapay will push its product development, marketing and expend the team. The company has also seen 10x user growth in the last couple of years to grow with more than one crore active players in the upcoming cricket season.

“Seeing the turbulent market conditions, we have now been advised to keep our IPO plan on hold. We expect things to pick up after May,” said Manish Agarwal, CEO of Nazara Technologies.
