Apple's 2027 'Product Renaissance': What to Expect
TwitterWhatsappLinkedin

Apple will shake up its product lineup with what Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman terms a “product renaissance” beginning later in 2026 and running through 2027. Apple had been stacking incremental upgrades for years that left some fans hungry for more, and the tech giant now seems poised to make wholesale overhauls in a number of different product lines.

Apple’s return to form will be headed by its maiden foldable iPhone, which will debut alongside the iPhone 18 series in the second half of 2026.

Apple’s Future: Foldables, Radical iPhones, and AI Everywhere

In response to competition from the likes of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Apple’s foldable will address long-standing flaws in the category with a creaseless display and long-lasting titanium frame. Such high-end features will be priced accordingly, making it a high-end option in the foldables segment.

Since the foldable, Apple has a special surprise lined up for iPhone’s 20th anniversary. While details are limited, Gurman describes it as “a mostly glass, curved iPhone – with no cutouts in the display.” This radical redesign is perhaps the biggest iPhone form factor shift since the original iPhone.

Apple Intelligence technology will power several new product lines in 2027. Apple is developing smart glasses to compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban product line, with custom silicon and integrated cameras, speakers, and microphones. Apple’s Visual Intelligence capabilities will be employed by these glasses to engage with the surroundings.

The Visual Intelligence push won’t stop there, though. New Apple Watch and AirPods models with integrated cameras leaked to the press also suggest that those products will be able to see and respond to the world in new ways.

Siri also needs a total redesign by 2027. Apple is creating dedicated server chips for AI use only and completely overhauling Siri to be centered on large language models (LLMs) at its core. The assistant’s new conversational interface, originally due in iOS 19, should finally arrive with iOS 20.

Most surprisingly, perhaps, Apple is moving into the robotics space. The first product, a “tabletop machine with a robotic arm,” will feature its own AI assistant with a personality. This foray into robotics comes on the heels of the recent launch of Apple’s long-awaited smart home hub.

Apple’s Rumored 2027 Lineup

Looking forward to 2027, Apple is looking at a hybrid device that combines the functionality of a foldable iPad and touchscreen Mac, but this device won’t be released until at least 2028.

As with any upcoming product strategy, Gurman advises timing is “fluid” and likely to be adjusted. Apple’s history has been marked with axed or shelved projects, so these tempting tidings need to be met with a dose of skepticism.

However, there is a suggestion here that Apple knows that there is a need to innovate more than just incrementally. Having seen rivals stretch the limits with foldables, AI features, and wearable technology, Apple seems poised to reclaim its status as a technology leader and not a follower.

For Apple enthusiasts dismayed with recent product cycles, 2027 may prove to be the year that sees the company return to its golden years of revolutionary product releases that disrupt entire categories.

Whether such daring forays materialize as envisioned remains to be seen, but Apple’s tendency to push into new territory is a promising indicator for those patiently awaiting Cupertino’s next revolutionary thing.

Which Apple product are you most looking forward to from this rumored 2027 lineup? The creaseless foldable iPhone? The enigmatic all-glass 20th-anniversary edition? Or perhaps the autonomous tabletop robot?
