If you are trying to defeat Geno in Fortnite, there is an important detail to know first. The current Geno encounter is part of the “Geno: The Ultimate Reality” story questline in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4. You do not simply find Geno wandering around the island and fight him like a normal boss. Instead, you must progress through the questline until you reach its final objective.
There are eight objectives. The first is hidden behind a “???” label, so you need to eliminate six players to reveal it. After that, the story sends you around the island.
Complete the earlier objectives
Before you can reach the final encounter, work through the previous Geno quests. The key difference is that this is a story-driven encounter, not a standard elimination battle. Knowing that beforehand saves you from wasting time searching for weapons, healing items, or a way to overpower him. You only need to reach the correct location and trigger the sequence. You will need to talk to The Innovation, Jones, and The Order about Geno, find Geno’s memories, and investigate his technology at an Override Console.
You will also have to activate an override, extract three Sprites, and collect eight pieces of Looper’s Essence from eliminated players. You can complete these objectives across multiple Battle Royale or Zero Build matches.
Use the quest tracker to see which objective is active. Once the first seven steps are finished, the final Geno encounter becomes available.
Where to find Geno
For the final objective, travel to the center of the Fortnite island. Geno appears inside a large red energy sphere. Unlike a traditional boss battle, this encounter is extremely simple from a combat perspective.
When you reach him, shoot Geno several times. You do not need to drain a health bar or prepare for a long fight. The encounter is designed to trigger the story sequence.
Geno will eliminate you after his speech. That is intentional and part of the quest.
How to defeat Geno
Once you arrive at the location, make sure you are ready to complete the objective quickly. You can approach Geno early in the match if you want to avoid spending time collecting unnecessary loot.
Follow these steps:
- Travel to the center of the island.
- Locate Geno inside the red sphere.
- Aim at Geno and shoot him a few times.
- Wait for the dialogue and story sequence to play.
- Do not worry when Geno eliminates your character.
- Start another match after the encounter.
- Land on the island to register the final quest completion.
Geno eliminating you does not mean you failed. The elimination is scripted.
What to do after Geno eliminates you
The quest does not immediately appear completely finished after Geno takes you out. Queue into another match and land on the island. This extra step is required to finalize the questline.
After the final objective registers, you can continue with the rewards connected to the Geno storyline. Completing all eight story quests also gives you access to the final reward process for the Geno outfit.
How to unlock Void Master Geno
If you are completing the storyline because you want the Void Master Geno style, there is another step after finishing the quests. Return to the Fortnite lobby and use the Lobby Hack feature with the code “YourThoughtsAreMine.”
The code works after the Geno questline is completed. If it does not work, restarting Fortnite or entering another match can refresh the quest state.
The Geno encounter sounds like a difficult boss fight, but it is actually a short story interaction. The real challenge is reaching the final objective by completing the earlier quests.
