The Crimson Crawler is a hidden weapon camo introduced with the Haunted Hollow version of Haven’s Hollow during Season 6 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone. Unlike normal camos that come from challenges or progression tracks, this one is tied to a secret map Easter egg.
To unlock it, you need to find a sword, carry it to the Floating Ruins, place it on a podium, and complete a zombie-killing ritual. The game does not give you a normal challenge tracker for these steps, making the reward easy to miss.
Start on Haunted Hollow
First, enter a Call of Duty: Warzone playlist that uses Haunted Hollow. This is the Halloween-themed version of the Haven’s Hollow Resurgence map featured during The Haunting event.
Once you load into a match, your first job is finding the glowing sword. There are three possible locations, but only one contains the sword in each match.
Check these locations:
- Mansion: Look at the top of the light beam inside the Mansion. Use the gravity effect to reach it.
- Lumbermill: Search inside the Furnace at the burning Lumbermill.
- Riverboat: Check the Slot Machine aboard the Riverboat.
If the sword is not at one location, move to the next.
Take the Sword to the Floating Ruins
After picking up the sword, head toward the Floating Ruins. This is a raised structure connected to the supernatural changes on Haunted Hollow.
You cannot simply climb to the ruins from the ground. Look for the Jump Pad that launches you upward. Use it to reach the floating structure while keeping the sword with you.
Because carrying the sword can make movement less convenient, avoid unnecessary fights on your way there.
Place the Sword on the Podium
When you reach the Floating Ruins, look for the podium. Approach it and interact with it while carrying the sword.
This starts the next part of the Easter egg. Once the sword is placed, zombies begin appearing around the ruins.
Your objective is now simple: kill the zombies that spawn around the ritual area.
Charge the Eldritch Gateway
The zombie kills are used to charge the Eldritch Gateway. Stay around the Floating Ruins and keep eliminating zombies until the gateway reaches full charge.
A fast-firing weapon can make this stage easier because you may have to deal with several enemies quickly. An assault rifle or submachine gun is useful for clearing the area quickly.
Keep fighting until the ritual finishes. You do not need to complete the entire Warzone match to receive the reward.
Claim the Crimson Crawler Camo
Once the Eldritch Gateway is fully charged, the Crimson Crawler camo unlocks.
There is no need to search the Battle Pass for this reward or complete a traditional weapon challenge. The unlock comes directly from finishing the hidden Haunted Hollow ritual.
If you are eliminated before completing the gateway charge, you will need to start the process again in another match.
Tips for Unlocking It Faster
A little preparation can make the Easter egg easier.
- Check the three sword locations quickly at the beginning.
- If you are playing with friends, split up and search different locations.
- Keep a mobile weapon ready for the zombie phase.
- Avoid unnecessary fights before reaching the Floating Ruins.
- Learn the Jump Pad location so you can reach the podium quickly.
- Watch for enemy squads, since the ritual can attract attention.
The Mansion, Lumbermill, and Riverboat are the most important locations to remember.
