Nvidia has come up with a new technology and has advanced its artificial intelligence to flawlessly remove watermarks from photos.
AI powered by a deep learning neural network is trained on thousands of before and after example photos so that it knows what the desired output should look like.
Researchers at Nvidia, MIT, and Aalto University in Finland have managed to train an AI to remove noise, grain, and other visual artifacts by studying two different versions of a photo that both feature the visual defects.
The AI’s ability to quickly, effectively and easily remove text from photos will pose a problem if the tool is released for the public.
“We found that introducing random geometric perturbations to the watermark — warping it when embedding it in each image — improves its robustness,” said Google.
