Apple iPhone 14 series was recently unveiled by Apple in the global markets. There were a lot of new features being availed with this new Apple iPhone 14 series which includes an upgraded camera, improved chipset, and also an upgraded display as well.
Besides all these features, we also got to see the Cupertino giant adding a few more safety features which also include the newly developed “Crash Detection Feature”.
Brief about Crash Detection Feature
Apple’s products have been known for bringing the best safety features in their product lineup including their Smartwatch and iPhones. Adding more to this, now we got to see Apple adding the new Crash Detection which was mainly focused on sending SOS help during a car crash or any sort of accident.
Although, the car detection feature has been tried and tested feature for Apple where they have tried the feature’s capabilities by actually crashing down a car.
Apple rolled out the feature for crash detection for their Apple iPhone 174 and also their Watch series. Such a feature was equipped with the help of a special gyroscopic sensor and also a high-end accelerometer which has been to detect car crashes.
However, it seems like people have been reported that this Apple iPhone 14 series is detecting the rollercoaster rides as crashing and is reportedly sending 911 calls. Let’s now take a deep dive into the issue.

Although, this new Crash Detection feature has been very handy to use! However, a recent tweet emerged by Joanna Stern who claims that her iPhone 14 smartphone reportedly sent so many 911 calls when he went out for a rollercoaster ride. The tweet has been embedded down below:
Since the iPhone 14 went on sale, the 911 dispatch center near Kings Island amusement park has received at least six phones calls saying:
“The owner of this iPhone was in a severe car crash…”
Except, the owner was just on a roller coaster.

Whenever 911 calls have been made, law enforcement reportedly stays on alerts signaling them that the user is on crash and needs urgent help. Talking more about this issue, Joanna Sterns even claimed that she was in Warren County where the Kings Island Amusement park is located and she said that she reportedly received six emergency calls triggered when she was enjoying the ride.
Although this is not the first time that we got to see Apple making its way to headlines for its Crash Detection Feature! Previously, we also got to see Apple making its way to headlines for detecting and also alerting the concerned authorities about the fatal crash that occurred in Nebraska.
