What is Bandi Namco?
Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. is a Japanese multinational video game publisher headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Its international branches, Bandai Namco Entertainment America and Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, are respectively headquartered in Santa Clara, California and Lyon, France.
What is its plan for the metaverse?
Bandi Namco, a leading Japanese video game publisher, has disclosed that it is working on a fresh development project.
Bandai Namco is working on a metaverse project that bridges elements from its most popular games. You can see Dark Souls, Dragon Ball Z, Elden Ring characters and settings all colliding in the metaverse. Provides fans a chance to interact between different IPs via a shared interface.

Tokyo-based publisher invests $ 130 million in a project labeled “IP Metaverse” as part of a new medium-term plan outlining the company’s three-year vision. I announced that.
Goals of the project
This Bandai Namco metaverse project has three goals: Connect Bandai Namco with fans of their games, improve the significance of Bandai Namco’s IP, and bind each IP’s world into an interconnected universe known as the “ALL BANDAI NAMCO concept.” It clearly sounds ambitious, but it remains uncertain what exactly this all means.

Bandi Namco’s New Mid-term Plan
The new mid-term plan will span across April 2022 to March 2025. The company has released a document that draws an initial outline for what it’s calling its new “IP axis strategy” among other plans. Apart from this, it has also showcased its new speech-bubble-inspired logo
Bandai Namco said this to share on their mid-term plan, “Through the IP Metaverse, we will establish communities among Bandai Namco and fans, as well as among fans themselves. Through these communities and content, we will build deep, broad, multifaceted connections that continue for long periods of time, and we will focus on the quality of those connections. In this way, we will work to maximize IP value over the medium to long term.”
While the document released by the company does not mention any specific IPs for its metaverse plan, there are a lot of candidates that can be a part including Pac-Man, Dragon Ball Z, Dark Souls, and more.
With the help of this project, Bandai Namco is looking to develop a “new framework for connecting with fans” while it tries to “maximise IP value over the medium to long term” with the money going into “data foundation” and the “development of content.” Stay tuned with us for further updates.
