Dodge is once again tapping into its rich muscle car heritage, and this time it’s bringing back one of its most recognizable performance names. The automaker has officially teased the return of the Super Bee, confirming that a new Charger variant will make its debut on August 7, just before the annual Roadkill Nights celebration.

Although Dodge stopped short of revealing the car itself, the teaser leaves little doubt about what’s coming. The legendary Super Bee badge appears to be making a comeback, signaling a more aggressive version of the Charger powered by the brand’s turbocharged Hurricane inline-six engine.

A Short Teaser With a Clear Message

The 15-second teaser video is simple but packed with clues. It opens with animated bees surrounding a drag racing Christmas tree before ending with the unmistakable phrase, “Black and Yellow,” referencing the Super Bee’s signature color theme.

Rather than showing the vehicle, Dodge lets the symbolism do the talking. The company also describes the upcoming model as the most powerful Sixpack-powered Charger yet, hinting that performance enthusiasts can expect a meaningful upgrade over the current lineup.

The official reveal is scheduled for August 7, 2026, one day before Roadkill Nights kicks off. The event has become one of Dodge’s biggest celebrations of American performance, making it the perfect stage for the return of an iconic nameplate.

More Power From the Hurricane Engine

The current Dodge Charger Scat Pack uses Stellantis’ High Output Hurricane twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, producing 550 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque.

While Dodge hasn’t confirmed official specifications for the upcoming Super Bee, the company has already indicated that there is more performance to unlock from the Hurricane platform.

Earlier this year, Dodge executives acknowledged that engineers continue to push the engine beyond its current output. That suggests the Super Bee could arrive with horsepower figures exceeding today’s Scat Pack, positioning it as the most powerful six-cylinder Charger available.

Instead of relying on nostalgia alone, Dodge appears to be using modern engineering to redefine what its muscle cars can deliver in a post-Hemi era.

Carrying Forward a Legendary Badge

The Super Bee first appeared in the late 1960s as Dodge’s affordable, high-performance muscle car. Over the decades, the badge has become closely associated with drag racing, bold styling, and raw straight-line speed.

Its return follows another familiar performance name that recently resurfaced within the Stellantis family. Earlier this year, Ram introduced the 2027 Ram SRT Rumble Bee, reviving another bee-inspired performance badge with a supercharged V8 under the hood.

While the Charger Super Bee won’t feature a V8, the shared naming strategy highlights Stellantis’ effort to reconnect with enthusiasts through its historic performance brands.

The Hemi Isn’t Gone Forever

For many Dodge loyalists, the absence of a Hemi V8 in today’s Charger has been difficult to accept. However, recent announcements suggest that the V8 story isn’t over.

Stellantis recently outlined an ambitious product strategy that includes dozens of new models and major refreshes before the end of the decade. Among those future vehicles is a high-performance Charger SRT, previewed with an oversized rear wing reminiscent of the legendary Superbird.

Although Dodge has not officially confirmed powertrain details for that future model, industry expectations remain high that the iconic Hemi V8 will eventually return to the Charger lineup.

That means the Super Bee could serve as the bridge between today’s Hurricane-powered performance cars and tomorrow’s next-generation V8 halo models.

A New Chapter for Dodge Muscle

The return of the Super Bee demonstrates that Dodge isn’t abandoning its performance identity as it transitions into a new generation of muscle cars.

Rather than relying solely on traditional V8 power, the company is showing confidence in its high-output turbocharged six-cylinder engine while continuing to leverage the heritage that has defined Dodge performance for decades.

With its official unveiling just days away, the Charger Super Bee has already succeeded in generating excitement among enthusiasts eager to see how Dodge balances modern technology with classic muscle car character.

If the teaser is any indication, the Super Bee isn’t simply returning as a nostalgic badge. It is being positioned as the next evolution of Dodge performance, combining familiar heritage with a new generation of speed and engineering.
