Entrepreneurship is one of the key elements for accelerating the growth of an economy. With one of the largest young population in the world, our country needs more entrepreneurs and innovators than any other country.
So, in order to foster entrepreneurial initiatives and activities among students, IIT Kanpur has started its annual flagship event, the E-summit. The event was started in the year 2013 by the Entrepreneurship Cell of IIT Kanpur.
The E-Cell of IIT Kanpur envisions a time when the youth of this country will start considering the next generation of CEOs and entrepreneurs as their role models. To fulfill this vision, the people at E-Cell of IIT Kanpur have been relentlessly working towards inducing and nurturing the entrepreneurial mindset in students.
The idea of entrepreneurship is not restricted only to the business world as assumed by many. Rather, it applies to many other fields like politics, arts, and the society as well. IIT Kanpur E-Cell knows that and that is why they have been working towards building a generation that will not shy away from taking risks in order to innovate and explore their creativity.
eSummit’ 18 will, therefore, provide a platform to budding entrepreneurs where they can get important insights and support, right from ideation to prototyping and raising funds for their startups. There will be panel discussions, workshops, and lectures by eminent personalities to inspire the young minds.
The summit will provide a learning experience to aspiring entrepreneurs. The successful entrepreneurs will be sharing the story of their entrepreneurial journey to give the much-needed insights to the emerging entrepreneurs.
Sanjeev Bikchandani (Founder of Naukri.com and Shiksha.com), Mukesh Bansal (Founder of Myntra), Nirupama Menon Rao (India’s Ambassador to USA, China, Sri Lanka), Kunal Shah (Founder of FreeCharge), Samar Singla (CEO & Founder of Jugnoo), and Chand Das (Ex CEO of ITC) will be among the eminent personalities to grace the event.
There will be workshops on both technical and non-technical aspects of a business. The non-technical workshop will cover topics like design thinking, digital marketing, and the legal aspects of a startup. The technical workshop will enlighten the audience on topics like Android development, robotics and IoT, ethical hacking, and automobile engine and IC.
Apart from these, another highlight of the Summit is the ‘Competitions’. Upstart SoCha, Upstart Biz, and Upstart Delhi are the three competitions that will be conducted in this year’s E-Summit. The shortlisted startups will get an opportunity to hone their business plans with a host of mentors and also to pitch in front of important investors and venture capitalists (VCs).
So, eSummit’18 will be connecting everyone associated with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, from the ideators to the pitchers, from VCs to mentors; all under one roof. So, don’t miss this golden opportunity to give wings to your entrepreneurial dream. To get regular updates on the event, you can visit their facebook page.
