28 March 2017, USA:
Facebook has appointed Michael Hillman, a 15-year veteran of Apple Inc., as Head of Hardware for its Oculus VR division as per the report by Bloomberg.
Hillman helped manage several of Apple’s big hardware projects like its iMac personal computers. He eventually became the chief architect for all of Apple’s desktop computers before moving onto to be Vice President at the robotics startup Zoox.
Oculus spokeswoman Andrea Schubert said that Hillman will work closely with Oculus COO Hans Hartmann. Facebook recently got on board Xiaomi Corp.’s Hugo Barra to look after the virtual reality program. Back then Zuckerberg said, “I’m excited that Hugo Barra is joining Facebook to lead all of our virtual reality efforts, including our Oculus team. Hugo’s in China right now, so here we are together in VR. It seems fitting.”
