What does it mean to archive an order on a shopping platform?

To archive an order on a shopping platform essentially means you’re moving it out of your main, active order history list. You won’t see it pop right up on the screen the moment you open the platform and check your orders. It doesn’t delete the order and all the details, including the tracking numbers, and invoices are still saved in a separate “Archived Orders” section. This is just a kind of segregation and doesn’t affect the order you had placed or any of its details. The main goal behind this is to declutter your view so you only see the items that are currently pending, recently placed, or need action. It’s a simple way to keep your orders page organized and filled with orders that are fresh, especially after an item has been delivered, and you don’t have to see its history over and over again.

Steps to archive an Amazon order 2025

Looking for ways to archive your Amazon order? It is not so straight anymore. But let us give you the right steps to handle the situation yourself.

Use a computer/desktop browser

It is the first point to note that the regular Amazon app on your phone no longer supports archiving, so you have to use a desktop browser if you want to archive an order.

Go to Your Orders

Log in to the Amazon website and navigate to the “Returns & Orders” or “Your Orders” page, which will get you the list of your placed orders.

Find the ‘Archive Order’ button

On the desktop view, if you see that the feature is still temporarily active for your account, you can look for a small “Archive order” link near the bottom left of the order’s box. Just click on it to confirm the move.

Amazon Household Account

If the archive feature is available to you for any reason, that’s a fair thing. However, Many users have reported that the button has been removed entirely. If that’s really the case, you can try setting up an Amazon Household account for separate order histories.

While the archive feature used to work for all the orders and all the accounts, the policies have changed over time. There is no news regarding it coming back anytime soon, or at all. So, try the Household thing if it works.
