Do you have a public profile on Snapchat that you want to delete? Here are the steps that you’ll need for the same. Let’s get started.
Is it easy to delete a public profile on Snapchat?
It is quite easy to delete your Public Profile, and you can do it right within the app’s settings, without having to go elsewhere or follow an extensive procedure. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you are bidding farewell to Snapchat itself. The process is instant and simply reverts your account back to a standard, private profile, which you can keep using with friends. Just keep in mind that this action is permanent for your public data, and once you confirm, your public bio, photos, and also the saved highlights are gone from the platform. Your private chats, friends, and memories will stay safe with you, and they won’t be impacted without losing your account.
Steps to delete a public profile on Snapchat
If you want to take a break from having a public profile on Snapchat, then these are the steps that you can follow.
Open your Profile
The first thing is to open Snapchat on your phone. If you don’t have it downloaded, you will have to do so. Now open it and click on your Bitmoji or Profile icon in the top-left corner to head to your main account page.
Find the Public Section
Scroll down on your screen until you see the “Public Profiles” header and tap on My Public Profile.
Open Settings
From there, once your public page opens, look for the three dots or the Settings gear in the top-right corner of the screen and click on it.
Clear the Profile
Scroll all the way to the bottom of the menu, where you’ll see an option in red that says Clear Public Profile. If not that, it may show or sometimes “Delete Public Profile”.
Confirm
When you have chosen those settings, a pop-up will ask if you’re sure. Just click on Clear or Delete to confirm. That’s all you have to do, and the rest will be taken care of. Your bio, public photos, and highlights will vanish instantly from there, and only your account will remain. We should make it clear here that if you have any public stories you actually want to keep, make sure you save them to your Memories before clicking on that delete button to make sure you have them by your side.
These are the steps that you can follow if you want to delete your public profile on Snapchat. It is simple, and you can actually do it in a few minutes.
