The move is effective in both raids and Trainer Battles, making Dawn Wings Necrozma one of the strongest Ghost-type attackers currently available. Outside of battle, Moongeist Beam also grants an Adventure Effect that offers unique gameplay benefits.
How To Get Moongeist Beam In Pokémon GO
The only way to get Moongeist Beam is by creating Dawn Wings Necrozma through Fusion.
To do this, you must have:
- Necrozma
- Lunala
- 1,000 Lunar Fusion Energy
- 30 Necrozma Candy
- 30 Cosmog Candy
Once these requirements are met, use the Fusion option to combine Necrozma with Lunala. The newly created Dawn Wings Necrozma automatically learns Moongeist Beam as its exclusive Charged Attack.
Unlike many special attacks, you do not need an Elite Charged TM or a regular Charged TM. The move is granted automatically during Fusion.
Can You Teach Moongeist Beam Using TMs?
No.
At the time of writing, Moongeist Beam cannot be learned through either a regular Charged TM or an Elite Charged TM. If your Dawn Wings Necrozma somehow loses the move, TMs cannot restore it.
Fortunately, every newly fused Dawn Wings Necrozma automatically receives Moongeist Beam, so you do not need to worry about preparing Necrozma with a specific moveset before fusing.
How To Get Lunar Fusion Energy
Lunar Fusion Energy is the biggest requirement for obtaining Moongeist Beam.
Players can usually earn it through:
- Dawn Wings Necrozma Raid events
- Special event research
- Pokémon GO Fest events
- Other limited-time Necrozma events announced by Niantic
Since Fusion Energy is event-exclusive most of the time, players should participate whenever Necrozma returns to raids.
What Does Moongeist Beam’s Adventure Effect Do?
Moongeist Beam offers much more than just battle damage.
By activating its Adventure Effect, you spend:
- 3,000 Stardust
- 3 Necrozma Candy
The effect lasts for 10 minutes and provides several useful bonuses.
