The MK17 is one of the most useful assault rifles in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. It combines high damage with good accuracy and range, making it effective in both close and medium-distance fights. Flor De Oro is not an easy area for a new player. UNIDAD soldiers are heavily present, and the base has strong defenses. Because of this, simply driving through the front gate is usually a poor approach.

How to Get the MK17 Early
One of the easiest ways to reach the weapon early is by using a helicopter and parachuting into the base. You should have the parachute skill unlocked before attempting this approach.
First, travel to Flor De Oro and locate M.O.B. Jaguar on the map. You can use your Tacmap to identify the base and mark the armory. Once you have your destination, find a helicopter and fly toward the marked area.
Instead of landing inside the base, gain altitude above your target. When you are positioned over the armory, jump from the helicopter and use your parachute to descend toward the marker. Try to land near the rear or a less exposed part of the base.
After landing, avoid unnecessary combat. Move around the buildings, stay out of enemy sight, and quietly deal with guards only when they block your route. UNIDAD can respond aggressively once they detect you, so stealth makes this trip much easier.
When you reach the armory, enter the building and look for the weapon case. Open it to collect the MK17.
Tips for Reaching M.O.B. Jaguar
Preparation can make the trip much safer. Keep these points in mind:
- Unlock the parachute before making the trip.
- Use a helicopter to approach from above.
- Mark the armory before jumping.
- Avoid shooting unless it is necessary.
- Use stealth to reduce the chance of a UNIDAD alert.
- If you trigger an alarm, move away and break the enemy’s line of sight.
You do not need to clear the entire base to obtain the rifle. Your goal is to reach the armory, collect the weapon, and leave before leaving the base safely.
Is the MK17 Worth Getting?
Yes, if you prefer a powerful assault rifle. The MK17 starts with a 20-round magazine, but it can use a 30-round extended magazine. It also supports several useful attachments, including optics, tactical lasers, foregrips, and grenade launchers.
Its high damage makes it particularly useful against tougher enemies. At longer ranges, it can also feel closer to a battle rifle than a typical assault rifle. The trade-off is that its smaller starting magazine and slower handling may take some adjustment.
For players who like controlled bursts, accurate shots, and strong damage, the MK17 is an excellent choice. It can also remain useful as you progress into harder areas.
