The Storm Scout Sprite is a new Sprite introduced in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, also known as Override. It is built around one of the island’s biggest dangers: the Storm. Instead of simply helping you survive outside the safe zone, it can turn Storm damage into a useful movement boost.

When you take enough Storm damage, the Storm Scout activates Overdrive. This gives you unlimited Stamina and improved movement, making it easier to rotate back into the safe zone. As the Sprite levels up, the amount of Storm damage needed to trigger the effect decreases, while the Overdrive duration increases.
At its maximum level, the Storm Scout Sprite also reveals future Storm Circles, giving you valuable information for planning your next rotation.
How to Get the Storm Scout Sprite
The Storm Scout Sprite became available on August 29, 2026, during Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4. Unlike some special Sprite variants, the standard Storm Scout is obtained through the normal current in-match Sprite system.
To find one, enter a Battle Royale match and search for Sprites while exploring the island. Sprites can appear as loot during regular matches, so you should search containers and areas where Sprite loot is commonly found.
You can also get a Storm Scout Sprite from another player. If an opponent or teammate already has one, obtaining it through normal in-game interactions can give you another opportunity to collect it.
Once you find the Sprite, make sure you extract it before the match ends. Extraction is important because simply finding a Sprite during a match does not mean it has been permanently added to your collection.
Best Way to Search for It
There is no named location where the Storm Scout Sprite is guaranteed to spawn, so jumping to one landmark is not a reliable strategy.
Instead, focus on exploring high and mountainous parts of the island, where the Storm Scout has been spotted. Open containers as you move through these areas, and avoid spending too much time searching one small location.
A practical approach is:
- Land near elevated or mountainous terrain.
- Search containers while collecting normal loot.
- Look for Sprite opportunities as you rotate.
- Keep moving instead of repeatedly checking one area.
- Extract the Storm Scout once you find it.
Playing with a squad can also help because teammates can cover more ground and alert you when they find a Sprite.
How the Storm Scout Ability Works
The main reason players want this Sprite is its Overdrive ability. After taking the required amount of Storm damage, Overdrive activates automatically. The effect provides unlimited Stamina and movement benefits for a limited period.
The duration improves with the Sprite’s level. At Level 1, Overdrive lasts for around 12 seconds. Each additional level increases the duration, reaching 20 seconds at Level 5.
The Storm Scout also becomes more efficient as it levels up because less Storm damage is needed to activate Overdrive. At Level 5, its most valuable feature becomes available: future Storm Circles are revealed.
This is especially useful when several teams are fighting for strong positions.
Storm Scout Variants
The Storm Scout Sprite also has additional versions in the Season 4 collection. These include Gold and Cheat Master variants.
The Gold version provides a Sprite XP bonus from eliminations. The Cheat Master version keeps the core ability while making Cheat Code inputs easier by treating every input as correct.
If you only want the standard Storm Scout, you do not need to hunt for these variants.
Is Storm Scout Worth Getting?
Yes, especially if you like aggressive rotations or often find yourself dealing with the Storm. The ability rewards smart Storm management and can turn a dangerous situation into a temporary advantage.
