If you’re a Helldivers 2 player eager to expand your gear without spending Super Credits, this guide dives into everything you need to know about Warbond Tokens. By the end of this article, you’ll understand what they are, how to get them, how to use them, and how to make smart choices when claiming your Warbond.

A Warbond Token is a special in-game voucher awarded to certain players that allows them to unlock any Premium Warbond for free—no Super Credits required. However, it doesn’t apply to Legendary Warbonds like the Halo: ODST crossover. It replaces the older Steeled Veterans Warbond in eligible Super Citizen Edition holders.
How Do You Get a Warbond Token?
You automatically receive a Warbond Token if all the following apply:
- You purchased the Super Citizen Edition or the Super Citizen Upgrade DLC (after owning the base game), on or after August 26, 2025.
- You did not already own the Steeled Veterans Warbond via Super Credits before purchasing the Super Citizen Upgrade.
- You did not claim the former 1000 Super Credits reimbursement from player support.
- The token system replaced the refund system entirely. So if you didn’t already own the Warbond and didn’t claim credits, but upgraded before August 26, 2025, you are eligible.
Why this change? Before, if you already possessed Steeled Veterans and bought the Super Citizen edition, you’d need to contact support for a credit refund. Now, that refund is replaced with the flexibility of choosing any Premium Warbond.
How to Check if You Have a Warbond Token
There’s no obvious UI indicator—but here’s how to check:
- Launch the game and open the Acquisitions or Warbond menu.
- Select any Premium Warbond that you don’t own yet.
- If the button in the corner reads “Claim Premium Warbond”, you do have a token. If it says “Buy Premium Warbond”, you don’t.
You may need to wait for a new Premium Warbond release before you can check, especially if you already own them all.
How to Use a Warbond Token
When redeeming, the token applies automatically—you can’t choose when to use it:
- Navigate to your preferred Premium Warbond.
- If you have a token, select it; the cost (usually 1000 Super Credits) will be waived.
- Legendary Warbonds—like the ODST one—are excluded.
If you accidentally use your token on the wrong Warbond and haven’t claimed any items, you can submit a support ticket to reverse the transaction.
Why Warbond Tokens Matter
- They give you the freedom to pick the Premium Warbond that best suits your playstyle—no one-size-fits-all.
- Saves the time and Super Credits required for future Warbonds.
- Popular across player communities for offering that flexibility. For example:
“Super Citizen edition gives you a Token instead of just giving out Steeled Veterans… Token can buy any Warbond (not Legendary).”
“…you decide if you want to get a warbond at some point for free. simple as that.”
Choosing the Best Premium Warbond
There’s no one correct answer—it all depends on your preferred gameplay style. Here’s a snapshot of some standout Warbonds:
- Cutting Edge: Energy weapons like LAS-16 Sickle and ARC-12 Blitzer—perfect for energy-based play.
- Steeled Veterans: Balanced weapons like SG-225IE Breaker and P-4 Senator—solid, reliable gear.
- Control Group: High-octane sci-fi: seven-barrel assault rifle, plasma cannon, warp backpack, high-risk reviving armor sets.
- Masters of Ceremony: Melee-themed gear like sabre, bayonet rifle, flagpole weapon, and fireworks grenades.
- Legendary option—ODST—is not eligible for free token claim.
