Meet the Basic Requirements for ICE
There are certain basic requirements or conditions that an individual has to meet in order to be eligible for it. The basic need is that you must be a U.S. citizen and also hold a bachelor’s degree. If someone has a combination of education and experience related to the field, they are also considered eligible. There’s also an age requirement, as applicants for many positions must be under 37 years old (at the time of registration).

You’ll need to create a profile for yourself and apply for specific vacancy announcements that match your qualifications.
Pass the Tests (Including Physical)
The application process for the main positions is quite extensive, and you need quite a lot of patience. It involves passing a written exam, a physical fitness test, and a pre-employment medical exam, neither of which can be skipped.
Go through a background check for approval
This is an extensive part of the process and cannot be skipped either. You’ll have to be a part of a comprehensive background investigation, including a drug test and a polygraph test for some positions (not all). This is done to ensure you meet the security standards for it.
Complete your training
If you are selected as a new agent, you will be required to attend and successfully complete mandatory training at a federal law enforcement training center. This will include firearms proficiency and physical abilities assessments, all of which you have to successfully complete.
