Excited about Instagram’s new instants? Follow the guide to know how you can post these instants and how they work. It is great to see such platforms keeping things real and coming neck to neck with any other social media trending feature, which might look cool. So, let’s get started.
How do instants work on Instagram?
Imagine opening an image or a file that can only be opened once! This is what an instant means. It simply implies that anybody in your contacts can choose to share what they feel like in the form of an image or a short video. But this can only be opened and viewed once, and there will be no retakes or edits once it is clicked. Since it is made with the intention to capture moments candidly without the involvement of a wall that blurs the moment somehow, it is a really interesting move on Instagram’s part. What’s better is that people are already in love with it. Here is how you can use it with your friends, too!
Steps to post an instant on Instagram
If you want to post an instant on Instagram, then this is what you need to do.
- Have a picture in your mind? Start by opening your Instagram app and swiping right from your main feed to open the camera. How? This is done just like you would for a story.
- Now look at the bottom scroll bar, where the different modes like Live, Reel, and Story are listed out for you. Here, you have to swipe until you see the Instant option.
- This will show you the option of instants. It has fewer options there, so don’t be surprised if you see less than you were expecting.
- Finally, to take the picture, just tap on the shutter button once and take a photo. If you want to add a quick caption, you can type one out right there. However, you cannot edit this image or even add stickers over here.
- And before you send it, you can choose who sees it. Just like you would for a story, you can send it out to all your mutual followers or just select your Close Friends list.
- Once you click on the send button, it goes straight to your friends’ inboxes.
Also, while sending, just remember that once it is sent, it only exists for twenty-four hours before it vanishes from their view forever. Like you cannot open theirs more than once, they cannot open yours either.
