KEYPOINTS:
  • The iPhone 16 Pro versions, which are more affordable than their predecessors, were introduced by Apple in India. The starting price of the iPhone 16 Pro is 1,19,900, and that of the iPhone 16 Pro Max is 1,44,900. September 13 is when pre-orders open, and September 20 is when sales start.
  • 13 September at 5 a.m. PT
  • Preorders for the iPhone 16 will open on Friday, September 13 at 5 a.m. PT. This holds true for both major stores and carriers as well as Apple’s own online preordering mechanism.

Step 1: View the official announcement from Apple

New iPhone models are usually officially announced by Apple during its annual keynote event in September. During this event, the iPhone 16 pre-order dates will be disclosed. Once the date is confirmed, note it down. Preorders normally become available within a week of the announcement.

Step 2: Go to the official Apple website or app.

The main places to pre-order the iPhone 16 are the Apple Store app and the company’s official website, which is located at https://www.apple.com/in/. In order to log in and use the shop, make sure you have an Apple ID.

  1. How to Place an Online Pre-Order:
  • Visit the official Apple India website.
  • Go to the section for iPhones.
  • Once the pre-order option is available, click on the iPhone 16.
  • Select your preferred model, colour, and amount of storage.
  • Choose a method of payment, such as EMI, credit card, or trade-in deals for previous iPhone models.
  1. How to Use the Apple Store App to Pre-Order:
  • On your iPhone or iPad, download and install the Apple Store app.
  • Using your Apple ID, log in.
  • Tap on the iPhone section and select iPhone 16.
  • Choose the specifications (color, model, and storage) that suit your needs.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete your pre-order.

Step 3: Place a preorder with an authorised Apple retailer

Apple collaborates with a number of approved stores in India, including Vijay Sales, Croma, and Reliance Digital. Together with Apple’s official channels, these merchants frequently provide pre-orders. Here’s how to place a preorder with them:

  • Once the iPhone 16 pre-order date is revealed, visit the retailer’s website or mobile application.
  • Find the iPhone 16 listing and pick the model you want.
  • Utilise the available payment methods to complete your purchase, which may include exchange programs, EMI plans, and rebate offers.
  • With a little down payment, you might be able to reserve the phone at some outlets.

Step 4: Place a Telecom Provider Pre-Order

Pre-orders for the iPhone are also available from major telecom companies including Jio, Airtel, and Vi. They might include exclusive deals on the iPhone 16, like EMI choices, rebates, and 5G data contracts. You have two options for placing a preorder: go to their physical locations or order online.

  • On the day of the pre-order, visit the website of your telecom carrier.
  • Choose the iPhone 16 and use the available offers to finish your transaction.
  • Select a payment schedule; if you have a mobile data plan, this may include monthly installments.

Step 5: Select Offers and Payment Methods

In India, there are multiple ways to pay for an iPhone 16 pre-order:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: Take advantage of EMI options or use your card for a one-time purchase.
  • Free EMI: For popular credit and debit cards, a number of banks and merchants provide free EMI options.
  • Trade-In: You can receive a discount on the iPhone 16 by exchanging your previous iPhone with Apple and its partners.
  • Offers for Cashback: Some banks give cashback when you use their credit or debit cards to place an advance purchase. These include HDFC, ICICI, and SBI.

Step 6: Options for Delivery and Pickup

Following a successful pre-order, you will be given the following choices:

  • On the day of release, have the iPhone delivered to your house.
  • Pick up the iPhone from a nearby Apple Store or authorized retailer if you prefer collecting it in person.

Ensure that you choose the delivery or pickup option that is most convenient for you during the pre-order process.

Suggestions for an Easy Pre-Order Procedure

  1. Establish Reminders: Remind yourself of the day and hour when preorders open because there is typically a large demand for them.
  2. Have your payment information ready: When checking out, make sure your payment method is prepared to avoid any delays.
  3. Look for Offers: Look out for any promotions or discounts that banks or telecom companies may be offering.
  4. Fast Internet Connection: Be sure you have a steady, high-speed internet connection because pre-orders frequently sell out rapidly.

In summary

In India, placing an iPhone 16 preorder is a simple process if you know where to seek and are prepared. You may be one of the first to experience Apple’s newest invention by following these steps. Keep an eye on Apple’s official announcements and act fast when pre-orders open to ensure you get the model of your choice.

How to Increase Gas Mileage: Small Driving Changes That Save Big at the Pump

Fuel prices may rise and fall, but one thing stays constant: drivers want to make every litre go further. The good news is that improving gas mileage does not always require buying a new hybrid or changing cars altogether. A few disciplined habits behind the wheel, along with basic maintenance, can make a noticeable difference over time. For most drivers, the biggest gains come from reducing waste. That means less aggressive acceleration, fewer unnecessary trips, correctly inflated tyres and a car that is mechanically healthy. Smooth Driving Uses Less Fuel The quickest way to burn more fuel is to drive as if every traffic light is a starting grid. Hard acceleration, sharp braking and sudden changes in speed force the engine to work harder and consume more petrol. A smoother approach works better. Accelerate gradually, maintain a steady speed where possible and look ahead to anticipate traffic. If a red light is visible in the distance, easing off the accelerator early is usually more efficient than rushing forward and braking hard at the last moment. Speed also matters. As speeds rise, aerodynamic drag increases and the engine needs more energy to keep the vehicle moving. On highways, staying within a sensible cruising range rather than constantly pushing at high speeds can help reduce fuel consumption. Check Tyre Pressure Regularly Tyres are easy to ignore until something goes wrong, but they play a major role in fuel economy. Under-inflated tyres create more rolling resistance, which means the engine has to use more fuel just to move the car forward. Drivers should check tyre pressure at least once a month, preferably when the tyres are cold. The correct pressure is usually listed on the driver-side door frame or in the owner’s manual. It is important not to use the maximum pressure printed on the tyre sidewall as a target. That figure is not necessarily the recommended setting for the vehicle. The US Environmental Protection Agency notes that under-inflation reduces fuel economy, increases tyre wear and adds to emissions. Stop Carrying Extra Weight A car is not a storage room. Heavy items in the boot may seem harmless, but extra weight makes the engine work harder, especially in city traffic where the vehicle is constantly stopping and starting. Clear out unnecessary tools, boxes, sports gear and other items that have been sitting in the car for weeks. Roof racks and cargo boxes can also hurt mileage by increasing aerodynamic drag. If they are not being used, remove them. This is especially relevant for drivers who spend most of their time on highways, where wind resistance becomes a bigger factor. Keep Up With Maintenance A well-maintained vehicle is usually a more fuel-efficient vehicle. Delayed oil changes, worn spark plugs, clogged air filters, dragging brakes and poor wheel alignment can all affect how efficiently a car runs. Following the manufacturer’s service schedule is the safest route. Use the recommended engine oil grade and get warning lights checked instead of ignoring them. A sudden drop in mileage can be an early sign that something needs attention. The EPA advises motorists to follow their vehicle maintenance schedule and use the recommended motor oil to support better fuel efficiency and safer operation. Combine Trips and Avoid Long Idling Short trips can be surprisingly fuel-hungry because the engine has not had enough time to reach its most efficient operating temperature. Combining errands into one planned route can reduce cold starts, unnecessary kilometres and fuel use. Idling is another quiet fuel drain. If you are waiting for an extended period, switching off the engine can be more sensible than leaving it running. Modern cars do not need long warm-up periods before driving. Start, settle for a few seconds and drive gently. The Bottom Line Better gas mileage is less about one miracle trick and more about consistent habits. Drive smoothly, maintain the right tyre pressure, remove excess weight and service the car on time. These small changes may not feel dramatic on a single trip, but over months of commuting, school runs and highway drives, they can add up to real savings.
