Perhaps you synced your phone with both Google and Outlook at the same time, and that’s why it happened. Sometimes, importing an old SIM card also creates these twin numbers. It’s annoying because you cannot be sure which number you must reach out to when you have to contact them. However, it is not a situation so tricky that you can’t take care of it.
Steps to remove duplicate contacts
If you want to remove duplicate contacts on your phone, then these are the steps that you can follow.
- If you use an iPhone, you must know that the process is now built directly into the system. Open your contacts app and look right under your personal business card at the top of the screen. If the phone detects double entries, it will show a notification that says duplicates found. This is your sigh. Just tap on that, and you can either review them one by one or click on merge all to let the phone combine the data for you, and you don’t have to manually do it.
