Do you not like it better to see all the digits and calculations in the game on the screen? While some people prefer that, others don’t. But if you fall under the first category, then we may have something for you in store. Today, we will discuss how one can show FPS in Monster Hunter Wilds. We will also talk about the FPS in PC games and what exactly the term refers to. On that note, let us begin.

What is FPS in PC games?

FPS in gaming stands for frames per second, which measures how smoothly a game runs on a device. It represents the number of images (or frames) displayed per second, affecting how fluid and responsive the gameplay feels. In other words, the higher the number, the better the results. A higher FPS, such as 60 or 120, results in smoother motion, reducing lag and stuttering, while a lower FPS (like 30 or below) can make a game feel slow. FPS depends on factors like the computer’s graphics card, processor, and display refresh rate. Competitive gamers often prefer higher FPS for better reaction times and a more immersive experience, along with other things. Honestly, if you are a professional gamer, you should make sure that the FPS is always a decent number as it decides the entire experience of gaming.

How can I show the FPS in Monster Hunter Wilds?

If you want to make the FPS count visible on the screen in Monster Hunter Wilds, then there are a few steps that you need to follow –

  • The first step would be to open ‘Steam Settings’. The rest of it comes later.
  • A long list of many options will appear on the screen. From among them, click on ‘In-Game’.
  • Now enable ‘Steam overlay while in-game’ by clicking on it.
  • From the ‘In-game FPS counter’, choose and decide if you want the FPS count to appear on the screen. If yes, then you can alter the settings accordingly.

Now your settings will be saved and the next time you play Monster Hunter Wilds, the FPS count will be right present on the screen. Here you can monitor it every second while you are in the game and keep track.

Why should I display the FPS count while gaming?

There is no ‘should’ in the case, but we can state the possible reasons as to why it can be of help. Displaying FPS in gaming is important because it helps players monitor performance and ensure smooth gameplay. If FPS drops frequently, it can indicate hardware limitations or software issues, helping players adjust settings like resolution or graphics quality for better performance. Additionally, FPS monitoring allows gamers to optimize their system, ensuring they get the best experience possible based on their hardware capabilities.

We hope the guide has been of help and you can now change the settings and display FPS on the screen while you are playing Monster Hunter Wilds. It can be exhilarating to be in the game, but it is better if your FPS count is displayed for you to keep track of.
